Maybe. Never really lived up to his draft pick. I would be OK if they really went for a stud.

Anyone who thinks Jerry cave doesn't know negotiations. Maybe he did cave, but you put yourself in a position of strength and leverage yourself from there. He is not going to come out and say "hey the guy has an empty check." The guy was being massively underpaid for his position, granted he did sign that contract. You can either trade/let him walk or give the man a pay raise. The Cowboys know you dont let a top hof player go unless you want them to win a superbowl (ware).

Call it what you want they need Zack out there at RG, and he's a HOF. Jerry was tripping taking a hard stance toward paying him. Good, now everyone is back so the offense can build for Week 1.

So which is it? Lol Do people “not know negotiations”, or did he just cave?

Jerry is touted as this great businessman, and he is (as far as that goes in general). What he’s not is a good NFL GM negotiator. He’s never met a microphone he didn’t want to talk into…and he was not in a position of strength

Doesn't read like it's extended. Reads like they added some money this year and next year and then his deal is done, just like it was before. You know something I'm not reading here?

Great news, thrilled to have our best player on offense back. Some people need to get over it and wrap their heads around the fact that we weren’t going anywhere without Zack Martin on the field.
