Not this fan.
Jerry rolled over.
This is a terrible president to set.
After the zeke fiasco I thought Jerry had learned his lesson.
Apparently it was wishful thinking on my part.
He didn't roll over really. They just did a magic trick with the remainder of the money on the current deal. Nobody caved. The new deal is same as the old deal but extended. That's the difference

It's not a new deal. It's a shell game of just moving money around. Jerry never caved. He just rejiggered it. It was reasonably done by both sides.
If Zach is getting more money than he previous was under contract for, then yes - it's a raise that Jerry caved on. Sometimes GMs have to cave...not sure what the big deal is here

Oh geez.

Jerruh caved.

He'll have a bullseye on his back next year.....half the team will be coming to him for a new deal.

Enjoy that 33 YEAR OLD GUARD jerruh.
When the cup board is bare , you need to do something, but he did the same with Zeke . Hope they got some cap relief for the next 2 years.

Yep. Love the player but business is business and deserving or not this just continues the precedent Zeke had already called Jerry's bluff on. This is discouraging that others will see that they too can hold out and Jerry will cave.

So is he deserving based on performance? Yes

Does this further illustrate that multi year contracts with the Dallas front office can be ignored, held out on or not honored as early as 2 years prior?

Unfortunately, yes.
A double edged sword in this case.
You got that right!

This deal was getting done regardless of the back-up buffoonery.

Still work to do in terms of trying to upgrade the 2nd unit.

Absolutely no way was Jerry going to let Martin derail his greatest chance at glancing a conference game / superbowl. Team is argurably the most talented we've had in a very long time even prior to Romo years bar maybe a year

Defense could argurably field a 3-5 unit
Offense fields a top 10 unit easily. Imo probably 5-7 if healthy.
Kicker...

Obviously comes down to injuries, OL health, QB health but this goes for EVERY team

Roll him up in bubble wrap and unwrap him the week of the Giants game. The Cowboys OL is a house of cards and Martin is the by far the best and most crucial player on that unit.
