PFF: Cowboys rookie RG T.J. Bass has not allowed a single pressure on 58 preseason snaps

The question is, can they risk sneaking him onto the PS without losing him?

Or just make a spot on the 53?
Go light at LB and give him a spot of the 53. They can find guys like Cox and Jefferson on the street if they get hit with injuries. Probably better

If you have OL that could develop into playable players, you try to hold on to them

Why? Ball hasn't been terrible at guard, in fact, he has been really great in the run game.
Just keep them both.

Basically have to keep Farniok as your backup center, unfortunately, but if you keep 10 it's just a debate between Waletzko and Edoga.

Smith - Smith - Biadasz - Martin - Steele

Bass, Ball, Richards, Farniok, Edoga/Wally

I was going to respond that I'd like to see more of him in the next game before voicing an opinion.

Double edged sword though isn't it? Play him to solidity a spot within the organization (PS or 53) but you're also putting more tape out there for others to see.

As has been stated in previous threads, capable big interior guys are NOT growing on trees. If he continues his upward trend in the next outing placing him on the PS could be a dangerous proposition.

I've been a follower of T.J. so I'm glad he's making this a difficult decision.

With the roster now being 53+2 for the regular season, I would do the ole handshake agreement of cutting a long snapper or kicker and having them called up at first to sneak guys onto the 53 to not expose them to waivers. Vets just get cut, non vets have to go through the waivers.

OL is tough cuts this year. Bass and Richards show potential and likely snapped up quickly if cut.

Ball is inconsistent at best and we can upgrade there imo.

Waletzko hasn't impressed me enough and both shoulders have issues

Edgoa, not sure when he will be back, has some experience which may prove valuable

Farniak looks like he can play the back up center spot

Honestly feeling the o-line depth not as bad a first thought.

Center maybe being the exception.
Guard - Bass, Ball, T. Smith
Center - Hoffman, Farniok
Tackle - Richards, Waletzo, Farniok, *Peters (would sign over Waletzo)

Are you kidding?....with the need for OL and backup OL in the league, teams will be looking for those on day 1. PS will be researched heavily. Been saying here since he was signed not to sleep on Bass. Would be better prospect than Ball, Waletzko or even Farniok ..

Gotta put him on the 53 for sure.

The long snapper might be a good one. I believe he's vested so he's not subject to waivers. The kicker can be claimed.
