Jerry happy at RB but won't rule out Jonathan Taylor

Jerry is in denial again, or still. How can any one be happy with the RB situation. I am not impressed at all.
I hope I am wrong. But so far 2023 RB situation is like the 2022 WR situation.
Shaky at best.

package a few players, maybe even a few draft picks, and trade for Taylor. But no way give up a 1 or a 2 round pick.

He has no choice but to say this because he's invested probably even too much in the position. He's paying Pollard 10-11 million on a franchise tag. Too much for a RB.

Then Colts want a 1st or picks that result in a 1st? So they basically will settle for a Christian McCaffery deal.

Anyone who listens to senile figurehead Jerry and thinks that there’s actual strategy to be taken away from what he says is just annoying themselves.

You don’t listen to figureheads for answers on actual workings. He’s just there to talk and keep the headlines going. The sooner we accept that the sooner we won’t be surprised by his words completely not matching actions.

I mean look at the last 4 player negotiations lol. Dude says hardball stuff in the media while Stephen and the people who aren’t teetering on going to an old folks home do the actual work.

He can’t be too happy with the RBs if he’s even considering Jonathan Taylor. He must be thinking back to what happened in 2015.

He's the best in the game right now.
He is coming off a sub par year with only 4 TDs due to an ankle injury....the problem with now is he wants an extended contract which means three, four or five years down the road. We know what happens fast to those RBs....thus the concerns with teams not wanting to get screwed the latter years., see Zeke. Even Indy doesn't want to extend prematurely since he still has another year in his contract. Not saying he is wrong in trying to protect himself like Zeke did, but it takes two to tango....no tango partner.

And right now the era of big money contracts for RBs is in a lull. Unlucky timing for Taylor.

RB's are better this year than last year. Dowdle has had more wiggle to him than I expected. Its obviously not a great grouping but its better than giving up half your carries to a guy with no burst at all.

Of course Jerry was asked about Jonathon Taylor and of course he gave a vague answer to keep the pot stirring.
Exactly.

Why would he say something like “absolutely not” when no one knows what tomorrow brings?

If Pollard somehow is gone for the year out of nowhere and you can get say, Taylor and a 5th for a 2nd, you probably do it and save the season.
