I heard the Colts want a 1st.

Why would anyone do that when they could have just had Cook for money only?
Well Taylor is the best back in the league. Cook is considered to be on the decline. Now if it came down to a 1st for Taylor or signing Cooks I'd sign Cooks. They want a 1st but they know they won't get it. AT BEST they can see if they can get a Christian McCaffery deal for him. Colts want a 1st but they aint' getting it.

Because Irsay knows this. Thats why the asking price is ridiculous. He knows a team will never do that, thus holding him hostage.

If running backs would accept long term deals without guaranteed money other than the signing bonus, teams would probably give it to them. But they won't. Instead, they hop around from team to team playing on 1 year deals. Which is roughly the same thing. That is the future for RBs past their rookie contract.

The Colts also said they wouldn't trade him. I wouldn't take anything they say at face value. Can't hurt to see what it would take.

The problem with trading for Taylor isn't just the compensation but the contract you have to give him. He only wants out of Indy because they won't pay him. He would be the same malcontent here unless you give him a top of the market new deal.

Who wants to do that? I don't.

The one thing Jerry Jones knows best as the chief snake oil salesman, keep your team in the news otherwise known as clickbait!

Of course Jerry was asked about Jonathon Taylor and of course he gave a vague answer to keep the pot stirring.
Ya I wish that mofo would just shut up for a change. No I think we’re good at that position and we aren’t giving up draft capital for an expensive RB.

Would that be that hard Jerry ?

They are not getting a 1st.

You can take a 2nd or you can get nothing when he walks next year.

The Cowboys can't have EVERYTHING. Would be better signing/trading for a veteran/decent backup swing O-lineman. Only thing needed right now (with eyes on a Kicker of course)...
