Gehlkin - Brandin Cooks (knee) and RG Zack Martin (groin) are questionable for Sunday’s home opener vs. Jets

Nah he needs to be able to practice and get into game shape. The IR designation makes it so that you can’t practice.

Him being ready week 3 or 4 is related to him being able to work his way back and get in game shape. Why wait for week 5 before he can practice, that would make it about week 7 before he’d be in shape.

That IR tag is the difference between a week 3 appearance and a week 7 appearance. He’s a starter and more important than a 3rd string OL.
Martin will play and hoping Tyler sneaks in there too....i know asking a lot.....we CANNOT allow Jets to come into our backyard and leave with a win

we must take some risks here

I'll pony up $200 to get Parcells to make the decision on who's playing or not....it was a better world back when the HC made that determination, instead of letting players make business decisions. Rub some dirt on it ladies.

I'm not saying that. You can still be rehabbing while you're on IR. No need to be occupying a roster spot. The Cowboys use up roster spots for guys who clearly are not going to be ready those 4 games, so why not put them on temporary IR and use those spots to temporarily shore up other spots of need like the Oline?
No, they do not need to go on IR. They have to have inactive players anyway, what is it 6 players?
So they have 4 guys close to returning at any time, as opposed to 6 healthy players inactive.

They know what they are doing with the roster. (most of the time)

Geez, now I'm questionable on my pregame meal. Do i really want to waste a good steak watching the Cowboys OL be more porous than a screen door; I am doubtful they can suck that bad and yet hopeful Bass, Richards, Egor or whatever his name is, can body some people. Don't care to be on the PUP list on Monday. I figure day to day would be the best of the worst.

And who would have thought Tyron would be the least of our problems right now? Good for you, Mr. Smith.

does that make sense..? carry on.

Tyler’s backup did a good job last week. I don’t think Bass gave up a single pressure. The kid is big. And has Tyron next to him. I heard the giants were supposed to have a good defense.

Should have put Donovan Wilson on 4 week IR and used that roster spot to temporarily keep another lineman. Our Oline is leaking badly, especially now that both of our starting Guards might not play but be replaced by inexperienced undrafted Olinemen and a journeyman veteran lineman with bad knees. Let's see if Mike Solari made the right decision going short on Oline for the offense just to keep Dan Quinn happy having way too many DTs, DEs, CBs and Ss on defense.
Woulda coulda shoulda, and agree totally.

Sounds like Martin is going to play but Cooks is going to be a late scratch. The Cowboys seem to be extra cautious when it comes to certain player's injuries.

I am starting to grow concerned about the OL injuries. If Tyron has to miss time, as we expect, then with Tyler, and Zack injuries, it could get ugly on offense.

Tyler will be back soon.

Any chance that Turpin gets more involved with the injury to Cook

That Jets DL is nothing to shrug away. They are the real deal.

They could easily make this a game if we don't find a way to control the LOS. The secondary is not chopped liver either.

Sooooo....what was the outcome of Cook in walk throughs today....is he playing or not? Sheeessh!!!!

Heard Zach on the fan and said he was fine and will be playing.
