I must say. I feel a bit sorry for Justin Fields. There were discussions of him being compared to our QB coming out of college. I thought he looked good coming out of college. It seems clear that he doesn't want to be in Chicago anymore, and I don't blame him. The Bears are absolutely horrible at developing QBs and are clearly clueless about what to do with Fields. They're slowly destroying a QB that I think is a solid QB.
I wonder, and this is meant as support for Dak as well, if there is a way that we can trade for him without giving up a lot. I think it would be spectacular to have a 3 QB trio of Dak, Fields, and Lance. I think Fields could really use the tutoring of Mike McCarthy. I think we would have a situation where we'd have an excellent QB in Dak and two young arms in Fields and Lance. Not only would this benefit us in terms of having QBs on rookie contracts, but it also gives us a chance to have them compete with each other and become possible trade fodder for us later. I think Dak is going to be here for a while, but we'd have two QBs behind him who would back him up well and can be flipped later for a high pick.
I don't know. It's just a thought that I had, but Fields is going to be ruined with the Bears if he actually manages to play out his current deal there. I think he'd be a good backup for us, and, between him and Fields, I think we'd have the best duo of backup QBs, if Mike can rebuild Fields' confidence.
