I am excited to see Bland step up and we already know Lewis is one of teh best slot guys around. I am slowly coming around to this group.
From what I’ve seen, Bland is a much better slot corner.

However, he is a gamer who is also a ball hawk. This is much easier replacing with him than trying guys like Xavier Rhodes and Trayvon Mullen

I don’t think this defense was near generational. Even before the Diggs injury. And I base that on the linebackers. LVE and Clark are average at best.

Past generational defenses had outstanding linebackers in their lineup.

‘75 Steelers: Ham and Lambert

‘85 Bears: Singletary, Wilson and
Marshall

‘00 Ravens: Lewis and Boulware

‘03 Bucs: Quarles, Brooks and Rudd

Yesterday morning this defense was great.

Generational it was not.

Not disagreeing with you. But we all have to let the season play out before even beginning to have this discussion one way or another.

Agreed, LVE is still healthy so they are good back there.

Right?

Those defenses were really good.

I wouldn’t consider them generational.

Those defenses can win games.

This is purely opinion. Anybody could easily argue that you are wrong. I don't have the energy right now to do it so I'm going to just go with the nice opinion.

i am not worried about Bland stepping up, I am worried about Lewis being targeted on third down consistently.
Dallas keeps the heat on up front, and they will be fine with a very strong rotational secondary on the books still.

I'm not a fan of all this "generational" BS talk. No place for it right now, Diggs or no Diggs. It's all just talk and all it does is fire up the opposition.

The time to start applying those labels is only when the fat lady has exited stage left.
