Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer: “We just kinda shot ourselves in the foot (in the red zone). Too many third-and-longs. A big emphasis for us is going to be getting ahead of the sticks in the red zone. It starts with me. Have to coach better. We should’ve been able to punch a couple of those touchdowns in.”

We have an offense that doesn’t create big plays and a defense that gives up big plays. That’s not a recipe for winning a championship.

That last RZ appearance might of been the worst offense I've ever seen any football team below high school level play. I'm not even kidding. It was so bad. I was pulling my teeth out. I'm pretty sure we got into the RZ around 5 minutes and it was the 2 minute warning and we were still at the 11 yard line doing 2 yard rushes with Pollard on 3rd and 8.

Of the last 4 times inside the redzone opportunities here were the 4 results first down:

1. First and goal from the 10: Pollard up the middle for 3 yards

2. first and goal from the 10: Dowdle up the middle for 2

3. First and goal from the 10: Pollard up the middle for 2

4. first and goal from the 5: Chuma completely whiffs on his blocking assignment, defender runs free Pollard two yard loss on the tackle

So in all 4 instances we ran the ball and did little to nothing leaving 2nd and long. And if you notice the first 3 times it was first and 10 from the 10.

It should be noted that especially down by the GL the Cards defense did an incredible job covering everyone. There were also two instances of PI in the endzone, the gallup mauling being the worst and no call.

Dak was also rushed and chased out of the pocket on other downs down there. The Oline did an admirable job run blocking during this game, but when we got down to the redzone they couldnt open holes.

Not sure I liked some of the play calling down there and going for it on 4th and 5 was a dumb call. Kick the FG and make it 19-21.

This why I disagree on the “even if the starting OL played it wouldn’t have mattered”

Night and day when playing without 4 pro bowlers than with them.
True.

I can’t comment on the severity of anyone’s injury, but it did seem as if one or two of them could have gone if they were taking the game more seriously.

It’s not as if Arizona wasn’t missing anyone, their starting QB and best defensive player included.

They simply came to play and we were about nursing injuries.

How do you coach better when you have crap at QB?

Yah I think the coaching staff and MM were looking ahead as well trying to get cute and hold out all 3 guys. Tyron clearly could have played and they held him out. Might have cost us the game as Chuma was absolutely terrible.
