Pollard is running in the wrong gap...often.

It might be because he does not have a feel for the new scheme...

The Cowboys formula for winning is to rush better than the opponent.

No rush and pass rushers tee off.

Maybe. He also may be buckling under being THE guy. And the pressure of playing sans a long-term deal. Frankly, I think Zeke is missed, but not his salary,

It wouldn't be difficult to trade for a RB...

Pollard is now in a role that he shouldn’t be in. He is a complimentary, splash-play RB and nothing more. Just another mistake for the newish offense.
Yup...I'm buying more into that now...after seeing Pollard get punched in the mouth by the 49ers....he wanted nothing to do with that front after the 1st quarter.

True. I’m not saying Zeke is the only one. But the absence of Zeke or a Zeke type player is a hindrance to this offense.

By the same token, Pollard isn’t the only RB that can do what he does. I wouldn’t have tagged Pollard and paid him what the tag is. I guess it’s to their credit they didn’t do a big multi-year deal with him.

They had to either tag him or give some RB a significant long term contract.

Their mistake was not developing a 3rd RB that could have replaced Pollard.

It is difficult to trade for good pass rushers, CBs, WRs, etc. but teams often acquire quality RBs for minimal draft compensation from out of contention teams.

These OL, RB coaches and OC are crap, all needed to be fired.

Yes, He has missed a few holes, but i still do not feel that this coaching staff has exploited his full skill set
yet.

- Frankly I am not impressed with this run block scheme as of yet I thought it would include more pulling trapping
and sealing on the level of Shanahan's run scheme. More of a stretch run scheme.
I thought it would include much more misdirection formations and
split back formation that would help spring these backs onto the 2nd level of defenders, and more 20-plus splash runs.

- Some here will keep thinking that Pollard needs to be a bell cow, a pounder, a chain mover, but he's miscast as that.
But that seems to be McCarthy's perception,.. just as McCarthy seems to think Brandin Cooks is a WCO possession
receiver.

- He's an all purpose runner - whose receiving skills has yet to be exploited by Cowboys coaches.
That includes Kellen ,.. and now it seems to be McCarthy as well.
What happened to the damn RB screens that was so thought to come now under McCarthy ?
I saw a Pollard RB screen very late in the game, and that maybe worked cuz Niners were so far back
in prevent defenses at that stage.

- Also I'd wished they would stop placing Hunter Lupeke in a lead blocking FB- he's dreadful at it.
He seems confused as who to block, and all he does is 'lean " on and tango dance with defenders.
He does not physically knock them outta the hole. And McCarthy seems to think he's Daryl Johnson or Kuhn.

Or he is coming off of a leg injury and they changed the blocking scheme...
Pollard is not a bell cow RB, he is just not.

At least the Cowboys were smart enough to use the tag on him, I would hate to be locked in on a long term deal right now with Pollard.

Yeah. That's been missing -- not a pro-Zeke post but Pollard kinda needs someone to soften it up for him

Dowdle should be the starting RB. He’s running with more pop, blocks well, and has better speed.

Pollard is not the same guy preinjury.
I see the same thing too. Maybe they should experiment with increasing dowdles touches to see if he can handle the greater load!.

In my opinion, if the Cowboys cannot be successful running the football this year, they won't make the playoffs.
