To me there hasnt been anything consistent with the offense. It seems like they were trying different weapons and formations to see what works. There have also been a lot of injuries

Pollard can run. You can still see his speed. I don't know what you guys are watching. I think they will tighten down what they want to do, and things will look better

My dream: Dallas trades for Aaron Jones.

Green Bay seems happy to not use him much...

but alas... just a dream

The problem with Pollard is they continue to misuse him. He's better attacking the edge or out in space untill the defense wears down. I know he wasn't an all star receiver in college but was good enough in HS to play receiver a d CD at a high level yet Mike doesn't tee up any creative passing plays. Another year wasted with a hc who's time was up years ago.

RBs were taken just a few picks ahead of them in the 2nd and 3rd. I've heard there was one they would have drafted in the 2nd and one in the 3rd if available.

Story of our lives, how many times have we heard this? I'm sure it happens, but I also think they could've gotten a rb. I'm not actually down on what we have, but I'm not sure the coaches value these guys like the fans do. Luepke for example needs to get some carries imo. I really, really like Rico, just have little faith he can hold up.

IMO Luepke is the guy. I'm not sure why they haven't given him more opportunity but I think he can bring what we need for the position to get things moving.
They need to use Luepke and Deuce like Alstott and Dunn. I think Deuce could be a bell cow, he was at K State. Then Pollard is the change of pace. The only guy getting downhill is Dowdle and that is odd to me. I think it's the playcalling and subs that are making it predictable, when Vaughn is out there they go side to side or right to a run play...play selections are too obvious when they rotate guys in...

I dont know about that. I doubt they have much faith in AJ Dillon. They just need Aaron Jones hammy to get right. I think they wanna give Love every bit of help. It's not a terrible dream though, but I'd rather have a bigger back to compliment TP. Of course, maybe Jones with TP as the compliment would be better. I haven't lost faith in TP though.

He had ligament damage. That's what the "tightrope" surgery repairs. It is not used for broken bones.
I’m fully aware of what it is. Tightrope surgery is usually done for high ankle sprains so a player came recover quicker. It usually shortens it down to 2-3 weeks. It’s been 10 months for pollard

Pollard is not a power back. They miss Zekes ability to hammer the defense at the LOS.
That's what I tried to tell the zeke haters last season. Wonder where they are now?

Zeke pounded and softened them which allowed Pollard to do damage. Zeke haters made fun of his "3 yards and dust" (a lie)...

and now we have no softening. Pollard can;t do his damage.

Just like some said...but got blasted for.

Pollard is running in the wrong gap...often.

It might be because he does not have a feel for the new scheme...

The Cowboys formula for winning is to rush better than the opponent.

No rush and pass rushers tee off.
Many don’t believe it takes time to learn new schemes. No doubt they have to play better, but their is zero excuse for our defense playing in the same scheme, pretty much with same players

Didnt the 49ers have the same opinion? In a way they didnt fear Dak's ability to beat them in the air and we didnt have the variety to change the game plan (it's a bit like Moore in reverse).
no they dropped many into coverage and dared Dak to throw deep, they were not loading the box on the run they didnt need to... if we dont find a way to go deep on good defenses we are in serious trouble. Think Denver blue print from couple years agao short zones 7 in coverage... you can run but one negative or 0 yard play and the drive is over..

It shouldn't take a lot of time.

They should incorporate it in preseason workouts, summer camp, pre season games...and rock it right of the bat, These guys are professionals.

Right?

In the past, yea s changing schemes usually struggle early in and are better later in the season

Remember SB last year, Chiefs won cause of their run game as the Eagles schemed to take away the pass. Need to be able to do both
Chiefs were able to run the ball because Eagles were so wary of Mahomes hurting them downfield with their reputed
vertical passing. The Chiefs added a run attack and an underneath pass game to the reputed vertical game.

That's what/why I really had thought the Texas Coast offense would ADD the underneath pass game as
an extension .. to our existing vertical game.

I totally did not expect we'd totally re-scheme our entire offense to be a sad, uninspiring, scared dink n dunk attack.
Especially from an offensive minded HC that has a SB resume. Some of the concepts and schemes they
did (and worked well) under Mac, ..they don't even come close to doing here in Dallas.

They are going to have to adjust. Outside of last week, they were able to drive the football, but struggled in red zone, they are going to have to take some shots as teams are going to sit on those shorter routes. I don’t know what is up with Pollard and the run game, he doesn’t look the same as last season

this 100%, they either back off those short zones or this WCO will not work. Short zones kill the run game also..7 guys playing within 5 yards of the line all looking at the QB exchange..yeah they can react to the run also.

My thought with beign drive the ball ? Opposing defenses will be far more willing to give up the underneath yards
and stats ..rather than giving up chunk yards... splash plays that is more of a instant breakdown threat to their defense.

Chunk - splash plays are demoralizing to a defense.
Dink n Dunk is so methodical that defenses can chance, risk patted stats while hoping to get that killer sack, fumble or INT in between the 20's hatches that changes momentum in their favor.

Coaches are gonna show you what they are made of .. whether pushing ball downfield or dink n dunk.
IMO, if Mac is supposedly trying to adjust, it's cuz the Jones are insisting he make adjustments.

Have any of our RBs ( outside Pollard ) made the 20+ splash runs ?
Where's those Niners like RB quick screens to help get Pollard untrack ?
Where's the two-backs split back formations in misdirection plays that Mac used in GB ?
