this needs to be done by points per game because our defense has played one less game and will be staggered all year with Bye weeks etc..so technically are we in 3rd?...

Considering not every team has had a Bye Week yet, going by total points is a tad misleading.

I mean 1 and 2 have played 7 games and still have given up less points than 3, 4 and 5 on that list, all which have only played 6 games. That's pretty impressive.

Having said that, even when looking at PPG given up, Dallas drops just one spot to #4.

So the REAL rankings should be:
1. Ravens
2. Chiefs
3. 49ers
4. Dallas
5. Bills

All 5, and are the only teams, giving up < 17.0 PPG.

Bucs are actually #6, while the Browns are actually #10.

The Chiefs and Bucs are surprises. The Chiefs usually get involved in high scoring games.

Not as much any more. The Chiefs have gone to more of a ball control type O, as Mahomes was getting killed and they weren't winning super bowls.

Also, the Chiefs were 11th on D last year, and have picked up several very nice D players to get better. 1st round pick Karlaftis from the 22 draft is really coming on, as is their LBing corps and their rebuilt seconday.

Our D is great.... as long as we play teams with awful oline's and worse QBs. At least the Chargers game, they finally beat a legit QB.
