Dallas has made five trades to acquire veteran players

DT Johnathan Hankins good trade but this was last years trade.
CB Stephon Gilmore good trade
WR Brandin Cooks good trade, they are just beginning to use him
QB Trey Lance doesn't even suit up on sundays.
CB Noah Igbinoghene plays special teams at most so far.

Not exactly sitting on your hands like some think.

The Cowboys did not make a move before today’s NFL trade deadline. Most notable moves made by NFC playoff contenders: Eagles added S Kevin Byard, Seahawks added DL Leonard Williams, 49ers added DE Chase Young.

In a little over a year, Dallas has made five trades to acquire veteran players. They are the only five players on the Cowboys’ current roster that have been acquired via trade:

DT Johnathan Hankins
CB Stephon Gilmore
WR Brandin Cooks
QB Trey Lance
CB Noah Igbinoghene

All failures.....in the sense that they didn't live up to our expectations

In the Cowboys organization, those with expertise and knowledge in player evaluations are used as mere advisors to a decision maker that lacks both attributes.

Our guys are good....Jerry needs to hand over GM duties to a real football person and just worry about signing the cheques..

Dallas has also won 5 Super Bowls.

They are doing everything they can to win.

Everyone just be patient.

Lance is QB3.

in 2024, you will be glad we made the trade.

We did already trade away our viable draft capital for Lance, Cooks & Gilmore. I guess those other teams are just procrastinators.

Those were some good trades.

Let’s add TY Hilton too…….I think he was in Jerry sky box for one of the games!
Not sure if this is a joke, but we should add him, he was unstoppable on 3rd down catches last year. We need that!

The Eagles do it every year and they have like 11 picks next year including two 2nd rounders
The Eagles have had far more draft capital than the Cowboys thanks to trading Wendz in an almost Hershel Walker type transaction.

We've got to admit, that was a shrewd arrangement. They quickly evaluated his performance and market value, drafted a QB with a premium pick as a Plan B, made their decision and pulled the trigger.

Jimmy Johnson did the same with his draft capital. He traded for many veterans like Tony Cassiles, Charles Haley, etc. Not every trade worked out but they had so many picks they could afford to gamble.

It literally says "In a little over a year" in the tweet posted.
Yes, that's what I meant. Only Hankins last year was an in-season addition. My point was I don't know how much impact you get from players teams want to dump off their roster in October. Sometimes you get an Amari Cooper; sometimes you get an Eli Ankou. Yes, Dallas once traded for a guy named Eli Ankou at the deadline.

The issue isn’t that we don’t make trades, it’s that the trade deadline is becoming an increasingly important tool to improve your roster mid season — and we just don’t seem particularly interested in participating.
