Honestly, the running attack agains the eagles gave me a lot of hope. I know their LBers are very suspect but when they played 2 deep, the Cowboys decided to run through the middle against a very talented front 4 and they were successful. If they can keep at that, it's really the missing piece for December/January success.
I think finally putting politics aside, and very-sensibly splitting the running load between Pollard and Dowdle (with the additional legs of Dak and Turpin), had a lot to do with that Sunday night. No way would Pollard-as-feature-back accomplished that alone.

I definitely think Pollard is best when he is splitting carries. I'm not as down on him this season as others have been - first half of the season was as bad run blocking as I've seen from the Cowboys in a long time and this game they were actually getting push.
I think Pollard and Rico both have excellent vision, burst and provide enough uniqueness that it's hard for the LBers to get a great read. I think getting Pollard 12-15 and Dowdle 10 or so carries a game is an excellent mix.

I'm just glad for one year we finally aren't the butt of the easy playcalling blame game. Another hallmark of the Garrett years.
The big difference is that it was our opponent's that were saying we were so predictable, not our own players. (Couldn't get the audio to work, but by the title I'm assuming it was Eagles players saying it.)

My silly side was actually wondering if they were holding back, in case we meet up again in the playoffs.

Sounds like us with Kellen Moore. With Moore it was routes way down the field and dak holding ball in pocket.

Now it’s first read second read and react by using his legs. Internal clock under MM offense is worlds better

We had Vanilla flavor Offense for so many years with the Clapper and Boy wonder. Glad they were shown the door out of the Ice cream store.

They miss their OC from last year like no tomorrow...
We said they'd take a step back. It's an oblong ball and it bounces funny. It just so happened to bounce their way a lot this year. Regression to the mean is in full effect.

They lost key players and coaches and many of the studs they have are knuckle heads. If they don't beat the Hawks the wheels will be off. It's already beginning.

Lowest Motion in the League
Bottom 6 in Play Action
Most 0-blitzed team in the league (with a statistically significant negative impact to same).

I may become an Indianapolis Colts fan just for the fact that they hired Shane Steichen away. The Eagles have plenty of offensive talent but it is being squandered by very suspect design. It's as though they paid Hurts all that money and are making him earn it on hard mode.

Still, both of our backs averaged under 4 yards per carry. Early on, though, we had some good runs and the end-arounds to Turpin and Lamb were effective.

Yup. We heard the same about Garrett AND Moore's offense being too predictable. Haven't heard that this year. Just took a few games to get it clicking. Adding more motion and not being hesitant to go deep has made it the top O in the NFL. 6ppg better than last year BTW.
this is pretty incredible honestly. i had my reservations about kellen, but he did have the offense scoring points. i thought a new direction was needed but didn't think in year one mccarthy would out-do it so blatantly.
