By turning down the interim head coach job with SD?
The claim is he turned it down because he didn’t want to hurt his chances of getting a permanent gig somewhere, but was that smart, or does it show he wasn’t up to the challenge? Or that he feels he has no connection with the players there?
I mean, without Herbert, he doesn’t have to win. If he merely got them to play hard with a little heart, wouldn’t a little bit of experience help his cause in a year or two?
