If the MVP comes down to Dak vs Lamar Jackson

Matters how far you helped get your team. Having a #1 seed counts for a lot.

Is this a Joke?
When did the NFL play for stats and not results?
Ya, its a Joke...............just like our QB is!
Just like you sorry wannabee fans are.
And I don’t think he’s the mvp. So don’t come with that crap.

How has Lamar done in critical games?
Well, he just defeated the top NFC team, on the road, on MNF,
with everyone on ESPN calling him the favorite to win the award.
The defense did well to destroy his competition for the award.

Currently, the Ravens look like the best team in the NFL at 12-3.
Lamar "stepped" over several candidates to become the front runner.

It's a solid bet he'll defeat Tua's Dolphins this weekend.

Exactly. MVP is most valuable player. Its something that really should be above stats. To me its Jackson, Hill or McCaffery and no one else is in the picture

Maybe we should check strength of schedule
AKA how does QB preform against winning teams?

This is yet another case of you numbers people getting lost in the numbers. This award is not about the best stats, it's about which guy has the biggest impact on his team's winning moments. If you haven't seen all of Lamar Jackson's games then you are biased to pick Dak as MVP, but in reality, Lamar is the best option. Dak is overshadowed by Larmar in those moments when winning plays are made. In a nutshell, Lamar has won more. Had the Cowboys beat the Dolphins and the Ravens lost to the 49ers, this story would probably be different. It's that close in competition.

To me the MVP is just that…which player means the most to his team; steps up in the big moments; inspires his team to win close, competitive games; NOT who has the better statistics, but results.

Dak has the stats, but his numbers are bolstered mostly by YAC in the high percentage, short passing game; MM has taken the ball out of Dak’s hands thus limiting his mistakes; not indicative of a MVP-type player. In all honesty, I think CD would be more of a MVP than Dak.

Like others here, I think CMC or Lamar are contenders for the MVP; both have an impact on their teams as they would be vastly different if they weren’t playing. In Dak’s case, you put Cooper Rush in and still win some games; I’m not sure he is the difference maker the other candidates are.

Probably going to CMC(imo it should) or Lamar. Hill has a chance but I doubt it.

Dak's no longer a candidate, unless some nutty things happen in the last 2 weeks.

ESPN BET has him at +1800 to win MVP, 6th-shortest odds in the NFL.

Lamar is the favorite at -180.

Purdy plummeted to 5th-shortest odds at +1400.
Lamar has also put up better stats than Dak against teams with a winning record.

For instance, look how Lamar did in SF and compare that to what Dak did in SF. Let's see how Lamar does against Miami on Sunday and compare that to Dak against Miami last week.

Purdy had 4 interceptions vs the ravens.

Dak had 3 interceptions vs the 49'ers

Lamar didn't beat San Fran, Purdy and San Fran beat themselves.

That said, it was a total team loss for the cowboys vs the 49'ers.

I don't see a QB this year as MVP, but between CM and Hill.

That said, how it will actually play out vs how long the player is playing in the playoffs, who the heck knows...

After the last 2 games, no way Dak wins it. You can do stat comparisons all you want, nobody thinks Dak is better than Lamar Jackson this year. He pretty much wrapped up the mvp award in SF.

Vegas has Dak in 7th.
