Dak isn't getting it.

Fair or not dropping the last two games takes him out of the running unless the other guys crap the bed rest of season.

No qbs are really separating. Maybe CMC or Tyreek should be MVP...

Wins > Stats. That’s what they play for.
first of all both of them have no ring , neither have done much in the playoffs , and prescott on a ten win playoff team..how does that make LJ higher qualified what 2 games better wins and losses are Team game.. his low number show his TEAM is doing more for him in the record category, Daks clearly playing better as a QB and his tyeam led to the less wins ..odd huh?irony its team game but with a what we know is actually an individual accolade getting MVP prescotts better.

Why do some of you care more about Dak winning MVP vs dallas winning as a team ?

MVP is not based on stats …. which are bloated based on schedule matchups.

Lamar went into SF and handed out a whooping ….. where did Dak go into and hand out a much needed road win this season? Carolina ?

I get it though he should be handed the MVP ….
you do mean that the ravens defense got 4 turnovers and four sacks they won that game do they get the MVP.. what did daks defense do in any of these road losses?

NOTHING!!

nice try giving LJ the credit his team deserves..lmao blind hypocrites in here are so ridiculous... you show me a game where our defense, OL, run game game look like that in Prescott lost..there are ZERO

This is yet another case of you numbers people getting lost in the numbers. This award is not about the best stats, it's about which guy has the biggest impact on his team's winning moments. If you haven't seen all of Lamar Jackson's games then you are biased to pick Dak as MVP, but in reality, Lamar is the best option. Dak is overshadowed by Larmar in those moments when winning plays are made. In a nutshell, Lamar has won more. Had the Cowboys beat the Dolphins and the Ravens lost to the 49ers, this story would probably be different. It's that close in competition.
Yes...Lamar made those 5 ints...amazing performance.

Dak showed up. Many of his teammates didn't.

If he needs help with that issue he can call Romo so that Tony can laugh him off the phone. There are going to be games when QBs need to step up and win a game or 2. Unfortunately, we don't seem to win those games when it's put on the shoulders of 4.

..this comes down to who goes further in post season.

Confirmation bias, man's ultimate nemesis.

For QBs, whether we like it or not, wins also factor in even if they are really a team statistic. If Dak had played out of his mind to overcome all the things that went wrong against Buffalo and Miami, no one would be talking about Lamar Jackson. The fact that the "two best" teams faced off Monday and Jackson's team won with him having a good game puts him in the spotlight.

Yes, the Raven's defense played well too but that doesn't diminish what Lamar is doing. What you are saying is Dak wouldn't have a chance in hell to win MVP if the Cowboys' defense was playing lights out. I disagree.

Weird year for MVP

If Lamar wins, he'll have the worst relative stats (passing AND rushing combined vs turnovers) to his peers in 20+ years.
But it's not like Dak or Purdy (both who have WAY better stats than Lamar) are deserving of the award either.
They aren't
Lamar's overall team has the best record and they had that showcase win at SF, so now he's the favorite.
It's his to lose

Lamar will win it. It's basically a QB award.

In baseball, there is a different award for pitchers (most important position) and players. I think football needs to look into this. Have a "QB MVP of the year", and a "MVP of the year"-which is a non QB.

Dak, whether fair or not, won't win it imo. The last two losses will sour the voters mouths.

I'm not sure what he is doing that is so amazing? He literally isn't top 3 in any category and is at least 8 total tds behind Dak. Dak beats him in every category passing, by a wide margin.

Because Lamar's defense steps up big time Vs SF, while Dak's gets steamrolled....that is the difference? Dak takes his team down vs Miami on the road for the Go ahead TD and his defense lets them kick the FG with no time left...doesn't even stop them to at least give them a chance to answer...

That is the difference....it has been going on here in Dallas since Romo days....

MVP isn’t entirely about numbers. Dak and the Cowboys have been coming up short in big games especially in December. Our struggles on the road have become a joke. The December games stay with the voters and Jackson was the best player on the field Monday Night against SF. That was a huge win for Baltimore against a great team on the road. Jackson has led the Ravens to the best record in the league. The only chance Dak has at MVP is if Jackson lays an egg against Miami and Dak plays great against Detroit and Washington.

I couldn't care less about the MVP award. It's as meaningless to me as how many Pro Bowlers the Cowboys get.

Win something more than the occasional wild card game. Team success.

Nobody holds a parade for individual awards. There are reasons for that.
Good point when discussing Lamar Jackson too

It’s hard to argue that CMC is the MVP when he had a great game and they got blown out. Is he the best player on the 49ers? Yes. However, he is not the most valuable as he can’t make the difference between the offense clicking and not. I would argue Trent Williams is more valuable than CMC to the 49ers.

You mean Romo can call Dak so Dak can laugh him off the phone since Dak is about to surpass Romo's career postseason wins, plus break most, if not all, of Romo's franchise records.
