Three SB rings and the Cowboys all time leading tackler. Not bad for a team with 5 rings and several defensive hall of famers.

But for some dumb reason they make too many guys wait until they're dead or too old to enjoy it - like Chuck Howley. I hope that doesn't happen to Woody.

Hard to narrow down that list, but these to me our the 4 easiest to pick out.

-Julius Peppers
-Reggie Wayne
-Patrick Willis
-Antonio Gates

Of the remaining guys only Woodson and Harrison have won multiple Super Bowls which I think absolutely has to be strong consideration. Allen has been waiting the longest among modern candidates followed Woodson. Personally if you're going to exclude Everson Walls in the modern vote I don't see how Allen goes in. The only thing that could continue to hold Woodson back is stats. His 23 ints and 11 sacks isn't impressive stat wise but he was the enforcer for the Cowboys and perhaps the best defender on those 90s teams.

On a seperate note how is London Fletcher not among the finalists?

Not really. Peppers is the only lock to me. Wayne is a WR, they usually have to wait a while. and played with a great QB and another WR on the opposite side. He might have to wait a while. Gates at TE might have to wait because unless you were a generational one like Gonzales or Gronk I can't see him getting in the 1st time plus he had a PED suspension. We'll see the HOF is real tricky with their selections sometimes.

Key piece to those 90s defenses. I think the number of Cowboys already in the HOF works against him though it really shouldnt.
