If Woody doesn't get in this year, there should be an investigation lol.. No disrespect to any of the other worthy finalists, but the only Lead-pipe cinch to get in should be Antonio Gates and Julius Peppers. The only WR I'd consider out of the three finalists is Reggie Wayne.; Based on the widespread 49ers bias, I can see Patrick Willis getting in despite only 7-years in the league. That leaves 2 or 3 spots available for Woody.. Hopefully the person or persons lobbying for him in the meeting / voting room, are well versed in the art of persuasion and debate. His stats and Super Bowl wins should be enough to get him in, but these days everyone seems to have their own agenda in these types of matters.

I've said since forever they need to have a class just for all the former Cowboys who are overdue to be enshrined.

Key piece to those 90s defenses. I think the number of Cowboys already in the HOF works against him though it really shouldnt.
Your comment made me just realize that soon will be (very) rare to see a Cowboy nominated/inducted.

Not before Woody
I agree. Im saying, all at the same time they should get in. Woody, Gates and Wayne. They all equally deserve it. Especially Woody. He has multiple rings. Gates played at a high level for what, 18 years? My God....and Wayne was steady Eddie for Indy and Manning. They don't get a ring without him. Peppers and the others were great too, but the 3 dudes I just mentioned are heads and tails above the rest. But yeah, Woody better be in or they need to be investigated or dismantled.

Willis isn't deserving, just isn't. Great talent but he isnt on the level of Woody,Wayne, Peppers, Gates. In my view, those 4 should be locks. I might balk a little about Peppers. He was a great player but Hall worthy? I just dunno.

Instead of Willis or Peppers, Freeney is much more deserving. I can see 2 colts getting in as it should be . Wayne and Freeney getting in together would be nice. But Woody better be included with Gates.

I’ve said this before on this board but in my mind Tim McDonald being in the HOF instead of Woody makes it a sham.
Ditto with Leroy Butler and John Lynch , imo

Tim McDonald in the HOF ?

I flat cannot recall anything, any games or any highlights of a Tim McDonald at all.

Can understand that view based on length of time Willis played. But a lot of the Hall of Fame voting weights all-pro and pro bowls in their decision heavily. He was a dominating LB made 7 pro bowls and 5 all-pros. That's more all-pros than anyone else on the list and similar number of pro-bowls. No doubt length of time will be considered and maybe he doesn't get in this time, but he'll get in.

I came across this resource several years ago that scores a players hall of fame candidacy using predictors from previously elected classes. Players with a 90+ score pretty much are guaranteed to get in at some point. Below that is where the debate comes in.

Drew Pearson was the last member of the 70's all decade team to make the Hall.. Woody is one of the few members of the 90's all decade team not to make it in if I'm not mistaken. He may be the only one not in. Bob Hayes rewrote how pass defense was played in the NFL.. Harvey Martin was one of the best and most consistent pass rushers of his era. But people continue to deny that there is any anti-Cowboys bias across the NFL.

Does anyone in the HOF voting realize Woodson played four positions for the Cowboys and was excellent at them ALL?

1. Strong safety in the base defense
2. Linebacker in the nickel defense
3. Slot corner in the dime defense
4. AND played on special teams even as a starter

Best and most versatile safety of his era. It is time. Woody needs to be in the Hall yesterday.

Peppers is first ballot Hall of fame, this isn't even up for debate.

160 sacks and he made the all decade team (same people who vote for Canton) for two different decades.

Peppers is the only person on that list that's a 100% lock.

Willis was a top 3 lineback for 6 years and made the all decade team (along with 5x first team all pro). He's for sure a hall of famer it's just inside LB isn't a sexy position so he'll have to wait like Zach Thomas did

Good for Woody! I hope he makes it in this year.

But if he played for Dan Quinn, he would be playing LB.

I’m wrong and have been for some time. Aneas Williams is who I was thinking about. Tim McDonald isn’t in the hall of fame.

You are correct. My bad. McDonald isn’t in there.
