Titans fire HC Mike Vrabel

Who would of thought trading away your #1 receiver and replacing him with a bust would impact your W/L record?

I mean, I can't see how they pin this solely on the coach but not the GM
They fired the GM responsible for that last December.

The reality is that Vrabel plays a brand of football that does not win in the modern NFL. Run the ball, play defense is suicide.

Pretty sure he had no functional connection with GM by the end of the season. The Titans seem to have thrown the baby out with the bath water. He hasn't had a decent QB to work with there and the GM traded good players like A.J. Brown and replaced them with people like Treylon Burks. Woof.

Without a QB, what would you have him do?

The Ravens have done pretty well with that formula. If Andy Reid had embraced it this season he'd probably have a few more wins. Michigan just did it for the third straight year in college football and that has Harbaugh on speed dial (ignoring the cheating).

My bad, missed that firing.
Take the L there.

But for his coaching style, he's had Mariota and Tannehill as QBs and Derrick Henry as his RB.

I can't blame him for going run heavy with those two QB's.

The two times Tannehill has "shined", was 2016 in Miami when they had a run game with Ajayi, and it opened up the passing and then in Tennessee early on with Henry and Brown as the weapons.

Is that completely on Vrabel though or is that just a HC who was given the option of feeding Derrick Henry, or slinging it with Ryan Tannehill?

But the question I have is suppose that Quinn takes a head coaching gig, should Vrabel be on the short list as a DC?
I certainly wouldn't mind Vrabel as DC. I think he got a raw deal in Tennessee. You are not going to find a lot of success with Tannehill at QB and no decent receivers. I thought he did a good job with the limited talent he did have.

Didn't their two losing seasons happen right after giving away AJ Brown? Must be a coinkey dink.
