Pete Carroll out as Seattle HC

Whoa. There's a candidate for the Chargers now.
According to Cowherd EVERYBODY is a candidate fir the Chargers job, lol

The man is infatuated with that underwhelming team

I am absolutely positive Dan Quinn is going to be offered and take the Seattle job.

Mike Vrabel perhaps? Jerry has deep enough pockets, and I think Vrabel, being a former Linebacker, would be a great choice. Plus, if Belichick or Tomlin (he was drafted by Pittsburgh) stays in for another year, I could see Vrabel perhaps taking a DC job for a year here until that spot opens. Especially if Jerry opens up the wallet for him.
Good choice!

P. Allen - “Hey Shirley, get me Dan Quinn on line one”
Shirley - “on it sir………Mr Allen, Dan is on the line”
Quinn - “Hello Paul, how you doing?”

Allen - “ Good but no time for small talk. I heard you are wanting a head coaching position next season. Is this true?”
Quinn - “Yes sire, it’s time to get back on the horse.”
Allen - “Great to hear, hang on a sec. Shirley, get me Pete on line two STAT”

Shirley - “Mr. Allen, Mr. Carroll is on the line”
Allen - “Pete, you’re out but I’m moving you to the front office so you don’t get any free money, capisce.”
Pete - “but sir, I wasn’t planning on…….”

Allen - “It’s a done deal Pete, get with Dave in Human Resources for the transition phase, goodbye”
Allen - “ Still there Dan?”
Quinn - “ Yes sir”
Allen - “ fantastic, as soon as the playoffs are over, meet me at the top of the space needle. I will be there with Chris Harrison and a platter with a rose on it. All you have to do is accept”
Quinn - “great, I’m anxiously awaiting, see you soon!”
Paul Allen died in 2018. I'm skeptical as to authenticity of that transcript.

Prediction: Joe Whitt replaces Quinn, Al Harris replaces Joe Whitt, and then a new DL coach for when Durde becomes Seattle's DC.
Or, if Jerry says screw it and fires/trades McCarthy: Steve Belichick as DC, Josh McDaniels as OC.

I think they're making a mistake. Pete Carroll is a good coach. I think he would have eventually righted the ship. He'll coach somewhere else and be successful.

A "firing" normally suggests that the subject thereof and the company making the decision are parting ways. Not quite the case here, as Carroll will remain on the Seahawks' payroll, and will not be seeking or entertaining offers of employment elsewhere.
Ic.

So he's no longer the head coach but wasn't fired or quit. He just sort of disappeared. After saying a few days ago that he expected to be the head coach in 2024.

"Senators don't have men killed."

Whatever.

DQ has already shown he can be an exemplary DC but fail as a HC. Look what DQ did in Atlanta. Look what Rod Marinelli did in Detroit as a HC.

I think Dan knows that too, and is comfortable in Big D with his people.

I'm not worried until there's a reason to be. Gotta keep Willie McClay though.

He’s 72. Time to chill instead of grinding 70 hours a week.

The reasoning is sound for Vrabel; though on the Cowboys side I'm not sure we want a 1 year coach,,, it'll take him two years just to get the type of players he wants.

It's been reported he said he was ready to try HC again,,, though media types are pathological liars, so there's that.
