Titans fire HC Mike Vrabel

So your wise advice to Vrabel, with Ryan Tannehill, Malik Wilis, and rookie Will Levis would have been to air it out and not play sound defense? That's certainly a great fit when you have Derrick Henry as well.
Yes. His defenses have been crappy too.

Nothing matters if you can't throw the football and not trying to throw the ball is a guarantee you won't have success. The year they got dusted in the playoffs by KC when the Titans were the exact team they wanted to be should have been the end of that nonsense.

I don't know what input Vrabel did or didn't have on personnel, but he didn't get anything out of the personnel he did have. Time to move on.

I am constantly entertained by those that failed football 101

I'm a little surprised at this. My guess is he ends up in NE taking Belicheat's place.
i hate to be that guy but he's learned everything from Bill why would they just want a younger version of him. if bill cannot get it done in NE why can minny bill

He isn’t a Bellichick coaching tree guy for the record. Playing for someone then becoming a coach doesn’t mean you’re part of that coaching tree. He was never on a NE staff.

He should have tank one of those seasons for the #1 pick and get his QB or get one in the FA market that is worth anything. I am sure he will find a new home and it will be his choice mostly.

Remember he was not the GM. He was certainly not well served there

Another chance for the one and only Jason Garrett to get another HC gig. Somebody do it. Washington, please, please, pretty please. I’ll throw in some money to pay his salary at a go fund me.
There are people in here that wish he was still our coach-compute the numbers on that formula for success

That is the worst long term strategy, absent the owner offering you bonuses for losing. Even that didn't work out long term.

The problem is that your version of football 101 hasn't been relevant in the NFL for nearly a decade.

Throw the ball to score, put the opposing offense in disadvantageous situations. That is the recipe. It is not "run the ball, play defense."

This is a surprising move, IMO. I like him as a coach. His teams are tough and physical. They have an off year this year but they were missing a QB, which is a huge piece. Vrabel will wind up coaching somewhere.

They fired the GM responsible for that last December.

The reality is that Vrabel plays a brand of football that does not win in the modern NFL. Run the ball, play defense is suicide.
Of course he only had Tannehill at QB….what can you reasonably do with him?

I can't see Vrable going back to being a DC, have to believe he gets a ton of attention as a HC candidate. Also have to believe that if DQ moves on that the Cowboys look in house for his replacement, and it's either Joe Whitt or Al Harris.
Man I've heard talk that he's headed to Philly. Hope not as DC

The one possibility that concerns me is that is that the one job he really wants it he Ohio State job. If so it could be possible that he takes a DC job for a year to see if that opens up for 2025 or not. Just my opinion but I think it's better to take a year off, maybe get into broadcasting if that's the case though. Just too easy for a guy to take a step back, his team underperforms, and his stock plummets.
