With a lame duck head coach probably not a lot of good options. Jerry is hiring people he knows because none of them may be back after the 2024 season.

In 2013, the Houston Texans hired Zgonina to become an assistant defensive line coach. As an assistant coach for the Texans, he worked closely with defensive line coach/assistant head coach Bill Kollar who was his coach at Purdue University in 1989.[1] In 2016, he became the assistant defensive line coach of the New York Giants. Zgonina was the defensive line coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 to 2019.[12][13] In 2020, he was hired as the assistant defensive line coach for the Washington Football Team and was promoted to lead defensive line coach following the firing of Sam Mills III in 2022.[14][15] He was not retained by the Commanders in 2024.
Thank you for the Wikidedia update

Nice!!! Nice to have Greg back. Wonder if he will be mad if Zimmer switches to the 3-4 ;)
Lol, he was actually pretty good in the 3-4 if I remember right. He sure wasn't happy about it though.

New DL coached worked with Watt in Houston. That line was outstanding.

He then worked for a talented Giants line with Harrison, JPP, Vernon, and our very own Hankins for a year.

He was Shanahan's DL coach for his first three years in SF working with Bosa, Armstead, and Buckner.

We know about the talent he has developed for the commodes the last few years to only trade it away.

I have never heard of the guy but he as worked with successful, improving defenses and players where he has worked. Really want to hear from the guy.
He certainly has the resume
