And everyone knows it.
No matter what he says or does, no matter who he signs, fans know that the quarterback position is a problem that will not be fixed until the Cowboys move on from Dak.
He's hit his ceiling, and it's clear that he does fine as long as the Cowboys are whipping weaker teams. But not even the most die-hard Dak supporters can really believe that Dak can make the Cowboys better when they need him to be the reason they take the next step.
If Jerry expects to sell hope to the fans for 2024, he has to make the move that everyone else knows must happen:
He has to find a quarterback who can make the Cowboys better.

This is why the saying is for GMs, "if you listen to the fans then soon you will be sitting with them". As far as QBs who can make the Cowboys better, considering that among GMs coaches, and scouts (you know the professionals who study players and how to beat/value them for a living), Dak is a top 10 QB, you are probably looking at maybe 7-8 who are not a downgrade. I am also somewhat sure that the other teams with their top 10 guys are not going to be moving off of them anytime soon. That basically leaves you with the option of downgrading and there are not exactly a lot of teams that have gotten better after getting worse at QB.

Here's what Troy Aikman said about Dak today:

"I know they've come up short the last few years... but he's been a great player in this league, and his best years are still ahead of him."

Gee, who to believe.... legendary NFL quarterback or pear-shaped dolts on a message board?

Yep, pretty much the truth of today's Cowboys.
How the heck is he going to parade out the same old Dakchoka is a sales job that even Jerry can't accomplish.
They are mopping floors with his Jersey and Social Media is just like these forums Anti-Dak.
Hey, he's had his chances plenty in fact, and if you think about it with quality rosters, and has done squat.
Let's see what happens.........we can only hope Jerry will do the right thing here.

Only thing he could do for me would be to sign Wilkins in free agency.

What's Troy supposed to say? As a commentator it would be career suicide for him to say that Dak Prescott is terrible when he has to do interviews.
Don't be silly.

Everyone knows it expect the Dak before Dallas dimwits who pollute this forum, they're not Cowboys fans though so I guess they don't count.
For all we know there are paid employees of Dak's PR dept. to sell him on social media including here.
One thing is certain they are NOT Cowboy fans(with certain exceptions) supporting the primary reason we haven't been able to advance in the playoffs.
There are maybe a dozen left here and in the end, they're good for some laughs now and then.

For some reason, the Eagles have been paying fake fans to pretend like they like the Cowboys. To attack their QB and to try and divide the team, fan base, coaching staff and even the Jones family.

The only person you can thank for dividing the fan base is Mr.Prescott.
Sorry nothing but the facts and only the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Opps another pick in the playoffs by Dak....

The bottom line is you'd get the same result with Cooper Rush or any other good college QB. Surround a good college QB with a good offense, good defense, and some average and below average competition and you get wins. But when the competition goes up a notch the warts show. That's the case with 90 out of 100 "good" college QBs. 8 out of 100 can compete against good NFL teams. 2 out of 100 QBs are NFL elite .
Dak and Cooper fall into the 1st category. Solid backups.
Fortunately today's NFL is all offensive show and spend the leftovers on your defense. There are a handful of teams with solid units on both sides of the ball.

That's why having a clutch playmaker at QB leads to a title shot. Now more than ever, do the right thing Jerry.

I recall, Central Park and all and how Aikman also anointed LeFleur our TE of the future.

You're way off base it doesn't matter who's the quarterback Jerry is not trying to win a super bowl Jerry is trying to make the most money and have a team that's worth the most that is his super bowl.
He tells people what they want to hear and uses terms like ALL IN which is just a scam to trick fans into believing something he doesn't really mean.
Then when pressured about it he walks it back and tells his definition of all in and it's not what US fans are thinking.
