What is your current faith in Dak?

He may suck. But please stop acting like this front office would add players if not for his salary. He was on a rookie deal and they did not add players.
Acting like he “sucks” is ludicrous.

0% faith in Dak. Man needs a team that is stacked and it won't happen with him being paid a quarter of the cap.
He needs a defense that won’t play like trash in the playoffs. The defense has been the number one reason why we can’t get over the hump in the playoffs. I have a lot more faith in Dak than our defense. Our defense has been killing us in the playoffs for 2 plus decades.

I'll take it a step further for ya Cowboys fan...

I believe the current GM sucks at overall roster building.
I believe the current HC sucks as a Cowboys playoff HC.
I believe the QB also sucks at playoff football. You could call me an equal opportunity hater of all 3 in my opinion on their job performance.

These 3 ingredients are mandatory for NFL team success.

BUT Dak's sucking is definitely a HUGE part of it.

So if you start a thread concerning faith level in the GM or HC my opinion will read pretty much the same as my opinion on Dak.

And yet my lifetime devotion to that guy with the fedora hat, the Dodger and that star will remain.

I criticize where I see fit and will continue to do so.
All I can tell you is building a team starts with the Owner and the GM. Unfortunately for us they are same person. So one can not even offset the other.

The Owner/GM hired the coach.

The Owner/GM drafted Dak and extended his contract.

This year give you that against the Packers but he didn't exactly keep things competitive in the first half by scoring. But, the previous two years, 23-17 loss, 19-12 loss. You can't expect to win anything if you only score 17 and 12 points. If the Packers didn't go into full prevent defense, the offense might not have score over 20 again.

Two years ago against SF they rushed for over 150 yards and won the time of possession battle. Offensively we weren’t great but it’s hard to score when you can’t get the opposing offense off the field. Against SF in 2022 was one of the only playoff games under Dak where the defense wasn’t garbage but we still struggled to make critical 3rd down stops. That was probably Dak’s worst playoff performance. If the Packers didn’t let up they may have scored 60. Our defense was complete GARBAGE!

Yep. As I have posted ad nauseum on this exact subject.

This owner/GM does share the majority of the blame just not all of it imo.
Where I differ from most here is adding that both the HC and QB are responsible of their share as well.

I don't tie it up under one little umbrella of accountability to only Jerry.

With Garrett as HC? Yes, I did.

With the current SB winning McFraud? No, he was hired because he won playoff games and a SB.
He flat out sucks as a Cowboys playoff HC.

Dak was a runnerup in MVP voting.
He had, was it 9 All Pros on his team last season?
He led the regular season in TD passes.
Once AGAIN he absolutely sucked come playoff time.

Blaming it ALL on Jerry is the popular way here because he hires/drafts them.
I just am in the minority of holding the HC and QB to their own individual level of blame for sucking at their jobs in the playoffs.
Regardless of Jerry.

Was that team prepared to play GB?(HC blame)
Was that QB prepared to play GB? (QB blame)

That's not on Jerry.

And that is more telling of Dak, as one can't make excuses for him that something was not right when he starts "flinging it" against the second string Packers playijng prevent. And he had no business being out there with a deficit like that. His backup could have gotten reps and Dallas could have show-cased Rush as trade bait and Dak could have been injured staying in that long, but of course they needed to make it look better than it was when you look at the stat sheet. We already have folks on this forum yapping about his playoff QB rating, as if that wasn't distorted by the garbage time numbers against the Packers.

you know the drill KJJ its not enough to say Dak played bad..you have to agree he was the reason the defense sucked..7 of 8 drives ended in scores through 3 quarters..Garbage is being nice..

dak wouldn't have got those awesome stats if he hit the bench. I had a feeling he was about to go all Roger Staubach and make a once-in-a-lifetime comeback. LOL hail dak mary.

I've been saying he has been playing scared since he wrecked his ankle, the deer in headlights stare totally confirmed it a very short while after.
I had some faith in Dak his rookie season, but he has regressed since then to the point now where he is a franchise destroyer.

They blame him for everything so might as well blame him for our defensive breakdowns that have become routine in the playoffs.

Football is a team sport.

Did CD have a great year? Most people would say he had an amazing year. How has he done in the playoffs?
Your right.

Dak is the exact QB you want in the playoffs. I mean, you only need to give him 5 chances to get 2 wins.

Who can ask for more than that?

LOL.. you folks will say anything. Dak threw it 43 times in 2021. The third down conversoin rate was 6-13 versus 5-14. We were 1-2 on 4th down conversions. JG only threw for 172 yards and gifted an INT on a horrible throw. And it was 16-7 halfway into the third and Dak throws a pick in his own territory. Pretending like the defense is to blame is hilarious.
