Quincy is a true hall of famer, glad we didn't trade up earlier for that other scrub QB. What was his name, Drew Brees?

Danny White was the QB when I started following the Cowboys. Loved watching them play. I know Roger was known as the comeback kid, but it seemed like that with Danny (atleast at my age and limited knowledge of football at the time) and how he fought to come back in games, was one of the main things that drew me to the Cowboys

Quincy Carter was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft and named the starting quarterback for the Cowboys in 2001, becoming the first rookie quarterback to start for the team since Troy Aikman in 1989.

Led the Cowboys to a 5-1 record in his first six starts, including a 9-7 victory over the Washington Football Team and threw for a career-high 349 yards and 4 touchdowns in a game against the San Francisco 49ers in 2003.

Finished his career with the Cowboys with 3,302 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. Helped the Cowboys reach the playoffs in 2003, where they lost to the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card round.

Let's remember Glenn Carano, who barely played in the pros, but fathered one of the first great female MMA stars who when on to protect baby Yoda!
He was with the Cowboys for six seasons, and his only start was the first game I attended.

Dec 6, 1981 at Baltimore. 38-7 win.

Danny White was injured in the previous game…a 10-9 win over Chicago on Thanksgiving. I guess Coach figured he could beat the winless Colts regardless.

White had untimely turnovers issues like Romo but Romo was a much better QB. Danny White was helped by having some great teams along with a Hall of Fame WR and RB. This is why he won 5 playoff games and reached 3 straight conference title games. Good chance both Romo and Dak win championships with those teams.
We disagree on this one.

White inherited a great team that was only 2 years removed from its last SB win. Against the Rams in the 1980 playoffs he had 3 INTs but the Cowboys won 34-13 because he had such a good team around him. However, his mistakes always caught up with us.
Danny inherited an aging team defensively; they were transitioning to younger players in the early 80's. Which makes what he did even better. If that defense was just a bit better in the 80's, ie younger, Danny wins 1 Title. His numbers rival Rogers. Btw, why did we merge the likes of Glenn Carano and "Quinthy" Cocaine Carter with Danny? He deserves his very own stand-alone thread. Those other guys were bums.
