I have been hammering if this team truly wants to become a legitimate contender they have to fix the trenches and not be such a 1 dimensional team on both sides of the football:

-If the truly want to run the football better, it's all about fixing the interior and keeping Tyler Smith inside at Guard. When I looked at the final 4 teams last season, 3 had elite centers and 1 had an elite scheme. Draft an elite option and our run game will vastly improve.

-What about running back? We have seen top teams find backs very late in the draft and are very effective in a rotational system. Chiefs spent a 1st rd pick on a back, yet their 7th rounder has become their lead back and a very good one at that. Wait on drafting a running back until day 3. Adding a 4th rd pick would be ideal to address this need.

-The Cowboy Defensive Tackle positional group is one of the worst on the entire team. Osa is good for half a season then wares down, perhaps cause they have nothing behind him. Team is relying on Mazi Smith to become an impact starter, but he had his struggles throughout his rookie season and is coming off of shoulder surgery. We just have journeyman Carl Davis behind him. They have to address this area and not with late day 3 picks either. Murphy/Newton would be a homerun, but probably going to have to address the need or needs on day 2.

-What about Linebacker? Kendricks is a quality bridge starter, have to ultimately find his future replacement at the mike. They already have Overshown with Clark backing him up at the Will. If they decide to add a linebacker early, he better be able to rush the passer to see the field. A position that is important, but more towards the future.

-Corner/Wide Receiver-depth is certainly needed, but it is going to be real difficult to spend a high pick on either with so many starter needed and just 3 premium selections.

Get ready for Mims, Guyton, Barton or JPJ unless either Murphy or BTJ slides.

I was about to start one of these today but I’ll just piggy back off yours.

- Agree on OL but like I said prior we are not in a position use 2 early picks on OL. That would be awful roster management IMO. Pick 1 early and then we need to see what we have in drafted players from
prior years.

- Also think we should be targeting backs on day 3. Don’t waste a premium pick on a non premium position.

- We need playmakers in the middle or our defense in a very bad way. LBr, DT even Safety. Need guys with good instincts that came comes and add physicality in year 1.

- I’d 100% take a WR or CB if it was clear cut BPA. Cooks is upgradable and you can never have too many CBs.

Most fans don’t want to hear this but no matter how good of a draft we have our roster is not going to be as talented as last years. The team completely failed FA which will force us to draft for need and count on a lot of rookies which is a recipe for disaster.

Will never win in the playoffs unless they stop the run and are able to run the ball.

With our top three picks would love to come away with an impact offensive and defensive lineman and a playmaking linebacker. Easier said than done as it’s not a great DT and linebacker class.

This is not going to be a popular opinion but I think the Cowboys should trade back get the extra 3rd/4th and build the trenches. On offense give me a LT and Center on defense give me a defensive tackle and pass rusher. I don’t have an order but just go by your board. You can draft a running back with the 5th round comp pick.

Yea, I think that’s about as good as we can ask for. I think I’m leaning C over LT since we have Tyler as a fallback plan. Need to see what Richards has.

Same here. Tyler at LT is better than Hoffman at C.

Caveat, if Fuaga or Fautanu are there, I pick them.

Either way, I agree that we have so many issues we can't spend two high picks on OL.

It’s ridiculous we have to even consider moving an all pro…but this is where our idiotic Front Office has left us.
Completely insane way to approach this offseason. Hoping the draft can turn the tide but I expect more of the same headscratching strategy

Well win 10ish games bc we have an all pro QB and some talented skill players but this roster will be a step backwards from last year unfortunately so set your expectations accordingly.

I’m still excited…the draft is a blast for me and I’ll look at it as hopefully a few building
blocks for the future if we’re looking at a 25’ rebuild.

Need to try and get a third or 4th pick somehow.

I agree, rather draft a Center then a Tackle. Let's see how Richards plays, they do have Edoka as insurance at the position.

I agree about moving back unless there is a player who is too good to pass up. You have pass rusher, I have playmaking LB with rush abilities.

I think we better be careful or a team like Washington could pass us up if they find a QB.

A middle linebacker is not that important unless you have stud. Your defense is only as good your front four. Wilson has potential but is too much of an injury risk. We have one pass rusher that scares anyone. The rest are jags.
