This is the first time I can remember not caring about the draft

I understand, but I still get excited. It's a new year. Anything can happen. I'm curious to see if Jerry and Co. improve on this year's drafts picks compared to last year.

 ......No it won't. The jig is up. Everyone that follows this team close enough....knows. This franchise is a joke....run by a bunch of jokers in it for the money. Just as long as they stay competitive until December....so the league can make ratings....that's all they care about.
Yep, when you realize the truth of the JonesBoys then you realize there is no point in getting your hopes up, or buying into any hype.

The only thing to do for those of us who cannot change teams is to wait out Jerry Jones and see if Stevie Wonder is so bad that he is forced to hire a GM due to fan revolt, or give up the NFL if he decides to keep himself GM for life no matter what happens.

I'm 52 now and still feel numb from the GB game followed by a nothing in FA. I will always be a fan but this year is the straw that broke the camels back for me. I can't see me "invested" until the Jones crew sell up but sadly, I reckon I will be gone before that ever happens.

Week to week, enjoy the wins when they happen, that's about my lot now.

I almost forget the draft was supposed to go down later today. I guess this is my reality, I'm just not overly into the Cowboys and I've been a fan since 1977.

come on guys. You can join the chat and dream of the players you're not getting. Then we can complain about Jerry and how we hate him. We can make up new threads with different titles about how Jerry has destroyed this team, then with our extra cash we can buy new kiddie gear and pretend we are part of this crap show. If you're really lucky you can waste money on season tickets which will help one of the grandkids to get a new sports car.. "Hi, I'm Sally Struthers, will you help a Jones kid get a new sports car, with only a few grand you too can help little pizzaface kid or little jerry Jones IIII get a new car." *wipes tears from face* do it for the kids.....

As always, I plan on enjoying the goings on that come with the NFL draft. I hope all of you on this website find it a rewarding experience. It might not be everything you might expect, but at least you might see some good that comes from it. Let's hope some good things happen for us and this team in their future that's yet to be revealed. The draft offers an opportunity for each team to improve its future. Lord knows, this team needs that. ;)

I’ll age myself and give yall some personal info I’ve never shared here before. I turned 50 a month ago. I’ve been a fan since I was a a very young kid. First game I ever went to was Dallas at Oakland in 1980. My dad hates he ever took me to that game. I’ve been a diehard ever since.

This is the first time in all my years I’ve ever felt like this. This is the first time I can remember not caring about the draft. This is the first time in all my years I can remember feeling this down before the season begins.

The draft this year to me is depressing. Sure The Boys draft better than average. They hit on can’t miss players and they miss on reaches, but they still do better than most. WTBS, I’m always all in. I follow all the draft gurus, and listen to hour after after of podcasts and YouTube videos. But not this year. I just don’t know.

Do I like it?
Nope! I hate it actually.
But it’s my reality, and I hope it changes before the season arrives. It would be a very weird and depressing football season without having the Cowboys spirit that usually pumps through my veins.
My brother I feel pretty much the same way. I pretty much bought into the All In boy was I fooled.

I guess I am a minority but considering how they screwed up free agency, I'm more interested in this year's draft than any since 2016. We are at a point where we need to hit on damn near every pick. I know that is nearly impossible but have to knock this draft out of the park. So to Jerry, I say....stick to your board, draft good safe players and stay the hell away from gambling on players with injury issues.

Back many years ago, I think they had the first 3 rounds on a Saturday. My son would bring 3 or 4 friends over and each guy had his own draft board. Everyone had the latest Magazine out there that did mock drafts. They each had their own Whiteboards to track things. We would smoke a pork Shoulder up and have BBQ and different dips and drink beer and it was a helluva way to spend a Saturday. My son is now 40 and while he grew up as a Cowboy fan and at one point watched every game (including Pre-season) those days are gone. He thinks they wasted Romo's career along with a bunch of other folks. He blames JJ 100 percent. Rich owner with tons of money, but with an ego that will not let any pure football guy come in and make decisions. It was and is still about the Jone's boys. Far as I know they are the only team in the league that has the owner as the GM and spokesman for the team. That should changed long ago and that has soured me on following the Cowboys and specifically the draft this year.

Feel the same. I normally drive people crazy with my draft thoughts 2 months ahead of the time. Not this year, I could care less. Now its all about SHOW ME something,...something REAL,....then MAYBE I might get excited again. One good thing,....at least this year I wont have to listen to a steady chorus about how wrong I am and how they are just positive that TJ Watt will only be an average athlete and will have a ceiling of a Greg Ellis type career. Oh,...and how he was just too small to play D.E even though we already had Randy Gregory who actually weighed 12 pounds less, yet Watt had the biggest hands of ANY player in the draft regardless of position and Watt could ragdoll Gregory all day long. But yeah,...he was too small...EYEROLL :D

100%. This is the first draft in 30 years that I am not excited for.

I can honestly say, there is not a single college player in this draft I could name...1st time I've ever been able to say that as I usually at least have some knowledge of players that could go to Dallas.

I frankly don't care and my cowboys Fandom is having on by a thread....I am sure once something actually changes that I'll be fully back in but for now I have just lost I
Interest....

Sad...I was 10 in 1992 and cowboys football has been my top entertainment hobby for many years....losing interest

Your apathy is sourced at knowing that regardless of what they did this offseason, Dak will still be the qb this season so it will only end with him choking out early in the playoffs again.

The good news is this looks like, barring a miracle and Dak carrying this now mediocre team on a deep playoff run to at least the NFCCG, it will be his last season here and we can start the rebuild behind a new qb, which can be scary but also exciting.

So hopefully they get some key pieces in this draft that will kickstart that rebuild process in 2025.

I'm 56 and remember Dallas winning the SB vs Denver. the Cowboys were almost always respected and hated as a perennial threat to reach the SB. Today they are a laughed at punchline, the fans are viewed as the same.

Me and you are in the same boat. I turn 50 in July and I honestly can't get excited about this season. Most of it is how last season ended with that ugly, embarrassing playoff loss. That team had me believing and they disappointed me to the point where I don't care going into this season. I'm ready to move on from this core of players we have. They are a bunch of losers and front runners to me starting with the QB. Then add in the offseason bs with the two bozos in the front office. Yes I'm still a Cowboys fan and will always be but I will not be going out of my way to watch Cowboy games next year. The disappointments of the past few years culminating in last years embarrassment leaves me feeling empty right now.
Slowly but surely the NFL and Jerry jones has made football less enjoyable to watch. I opted for the bare bones Dish package last year, no ESPN, no NFLN, not going to watch the draft for the first time in decades.

I am always excited for the draft.

However, it stinks we are pretty sure how our first 3 rounds will end up going with Guyton, Brooks, Wallace

The fires will burn brighter come closer to the season. The GB game and free agency have left a bad taste in many a fans mouth.

Well it’s obvious that winning is not a priority next season and a Dak contract will just crush us worse going forward.

Dallas is in a bad spot in terms of trying to win a title but I don’t think the team thinks about winning titles and playoff success anymore.

The GB collapse and carrying on with business as usual is wild.

Feel much the same way.
I usually make my family's plans around the Cowboys football schedule.
Go to loud expensive sports bars to see games that are not nationally televised.
Not this year.
Jerry has finally broke this fan of 49 years.
