Doomsday defense was great since they became Super Bowl champs. Any nickname celebrating any Cowboys defense the past 28 years is embarrassing and just shows how far Jerry has drug the franchise down.

Until we mk nfc championship game, the DL can take on the moniker “the sieve” or “the matador”.

With Mike Zimmer back as D-Coordinator, them HotBoyz are seriously going to profit. Zimmer will make sure they stick to their assignments and help stop the run way better than Dan Quinn ever did.
When you're talent is limited, you have to give up something. Quinn sacrificed run defense for pass rush and turnovers. I expect Zimmer to do the opposite. Despite what we have at DT, he'll make run defense a focus even if it costs us pressure/sacks and turnovers.

I really think Quinn gets more blame than he deserves. He's trying to scheme around having so-so NTs and 3-techs. And in the playoff game, he tried to scheme around Gilmore playing hurt. Overall, he did a pretty good job of it, but the talent gaps were going to show up against the better teams.

He sounds salty Quinn didn't utilize him more.
Up to him to show he should have been used more. I won't be surprised if Kneeland surpasses him for playing time because I think he's going to be more of the every-down end that Zimmer wants. Williams should still get plenty of pass rush opportunities, though. I'd love nothing better than to see him step up to the challenge.

This culture permeates from the owner on down. It's also everyone in his ear off the field in their personal lives, friends, family etc. But when the owner emphasizes this kind of pay me lifestyle then there is no buffer especially with lame duck coaches on 1 year contracts. They celebrate mediocrity, they reward it, they created an entire culture based on it.

When Sam Williams planned a victory party before the game and then came out and the whole defense got blown off the field, I completely lost respect for him. Let’s have less HotBoyz crap and more fundamentals.
