Interesting because at that time we didnt know what was coming or what we had.

I will add that in 91 dallas made playoffs won a WC game against chicago, then got blown out by detroit in detroit.
not sure but I think chicago game was in chicago ??

Fish was honest, and to sum it up, said no this team isnt the 92 cowboys, but he throws in some interesting stuff about the 92 guys.
He even compares 92 jerry to 2024 jerry lol, and 92 jerry he says was better.

We already know what we have with this team, unlike the '92 team. A QB who can't win in the playoffs and struggles against good teams, a coach who can't "get ready" for the playoffs, a new old running back who falls forward for a couple yards without being touched, one guy who can get to the opposing QB, one sometimes great WR, and a great kicker.

I really don't see any comparison at all.....more like wishful thinking probably.... I mean, comparing a #1 rd pick QB with potential with a #4 rd pick QB in his 9th year on his downside of his career; a #1 pick RB with potential and a washed up #1 pick RB on his downside of his career; and two WRs, one with the moniker "Playmaker" who was known for pumping up and elevating his teammates with another who goes into a shell and pouts on the sidelines. As for the HC, one who knew how to motivate and handle his players with one who is happy to collect a paycheck still. As for Jerry, he stayed out of Jimmy's way and this led to success; now he is "All in" and can't find his way out of a paper bag for the past 28 years and counting. Back then he was hoping to win Super Bowls, now he is content with "hanging around the rim.".

Yeah, pretty similar alright.....the unis look almost the same. Oh, i almost forgot this 2024 team ...the above players and the HC are all on one year contracts so what does that say about the future and their mindset, as opposed to those in 1991 who were focused on becoming great together with a bright future.

Those playoff teams were great because they played elite defense, had an elite Oline and the best RB in the game. Troy needed to make 5-10 great throws a game and it was well balanced. Those defenses didn’t give up 40+

I know it is a slow news time but is he that desperate to create content? Jeez.
It’s the Skip Bayless effect.

Good news, bad news? doesn’t matter. As long as they talk about you

You think the Commanders and Giants defenses were seeves? Making throws in that era with those rules were different. They could literally kill the QB and DBs could play aggressive on the WRs. Plus the turfs were much slower and the equipment, like the padding, was bulkier and heavier.

It’s much harder to play defense now, as the rules have been opened up for the offense and to be pass happy. QBs have to be able to go toe to toe in high scoring games..

The NFL of today is nothing like it was back then. Players nowadays are a bunch of mercenaries who go to the highest bidder. They play for the love of the all mighty dollar, not for the love of the game. They are paycheck collectors and crybabies. Give me the old Texas Staduim atmosphere with Tom Landry and Roger Staubach over this clown show any day.

He was only "better" because Jimmy was the GM, and Jerry just signed checks.

We had a #1 pick QB in 1992 who was just about to start his 4th season. Dak wasn't a 1st round pick, and is on year 9.

We had a fresh, young RB in 1992. Today we have Zeke who has been washed up for a few years now.

The comparison need not go beyond this.

The 2024 Cowboys are nothing like the 1992 Cowboys. That teams was up and coming. This team is on the slide. This may be the worst Cowboys team since the 6-10 years.

Some fans eat it up. "You know, he's right!!!" Somehow forgetting that we already know the majority of the team minus some late draft picks.
