What's crazy?

That the way he speaks is not smooth and polished for those in the television business.

I personally didn't like his patterns on top of patterns and color schemes in his wardrobe.

If that's crazy, you guys are too sensitive to criticism.
It’s sports analysts….I wasn’t aware that in the land of Colin Cowerds, SAS and Skip Bayless that there’s an actual way to talk. Nothing smooth or polished about those nuts.

Love the player, the passion, the honesty.

But I can't pretend to have ever found him to be a compelling tv personality. Too over the top for that format. Just being honest.
And to write in forums you need to spell better. ;)

Just kidding, thought kinda the same. Loved him as a player, not so much on tv though.
Michael Irvin's legendary practice ethic, passionate leadership, and stellar performance as a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, afforded him the opportunities to have a long career in sports television covering the NFL--- despite his numerous transgressions away from the game when he was still a player --- that continued when he was retired while he plied his TV occupation.
With the explosion of sports media since the century started...there will be an entity \ outlet that will still seek his opinion.
Exhibit A: As long as ESPN employs Stephen A. Smith in some TV show format on their network- Irvin will be brought on in some capacity - thus continuing to collect a paycheck.

Same here.
My favorite 90s player by a good margin.

His individual play and holding the entire team to his own on field standards was a guiding force for our 90s glory years.

Now of course my Irvin fanhood is based on as it pertains to Michael's on the field performance and impact on the team.

Off the field and as you've stated here as a so called analyst, I have never been a fan.

Regardless, best wishes Playmaker.

He's one of my all-time favorite Cowboys but his passion and intensity just did not translate well into television.
This is an odd take given he had been there 20 years.. Most 7 figure salary jobs don't keep you on the payroll if you suck. Particularly in the entertainment realm. YOU might not have liked Mike's style but somebody did since he has been at it as long as he has.

He reminded me of Emmett when he was an analyst.

To be on television you need to pronouciate better. He should have hired a speech coach to help him with that part of the business.
If that's the case, Shady should be next. He's terrible.

I think you're missing the irony of complaining how someone speaks when you obviously suck at grammar

I love Michael Irvin. Imperfect, sure. Passionate, even more sure. The heart of the Cowboys for an entire generation.

I genuinely hope he lands somewhere perfect for him.

His battles with opposing DBs and, after his playing, with speaking coherently were the stuff of legend.
