Ok this is Fish live at 6am show, he is talking about a article David Helman wrote on the giants being a good spot for dak, now or when he is a FA.
Fish says the cowboys need to get off the fence and trade him now, or pay him what he wants.

It is rare for a QB to go to a div rival , I doubt the jones would do this unless they got some good picks.
I might trade Dak for JOnes, and some picks like 2nd and lower, maybe next year or year after.

Jones might do good here, but I know a lot of zoners dont care for him.
Would you rather have Jones and some picks ? Or Dak and a big contract?
Jones could be a stop gap till they draft a new guy? It would be different and more exciting, than more years with dak.

Lets face it, they either get rid of Dak or sign him for 4-5 more years.
Fish said at one point if they trade dak or let him walk they could have 100 mil in cap room for 2025.
Dallas could do a lot with that if they were smart lol, some question as to if they are smart or not.

Anyway something to discuss, and the show was laid back and funny.
Fish said it might be click bait, but it isnt his click bait , he is just reporting on the cb article.

Trading Dak and getting a ton of cap sounds awesome and beneficial for the future.

Until you look at the 2025 draft class and 2025 free agents.

Fields? Darnold? Jones? Winston?

Love, Goff and Tua aren’t going anywhere.

Its like Washington having $90+ million in cap and signing nothing but JAGs to big deals.

“if they were smart”, they’re not smart. Dak has a no trade clause because “they” are not smart, and it was negotiated specifically so if Dak cannot get a deal he wants with the Cowboys he can be a free agent. A trade is not an option. It’s a fantasy. I understand this time of year the fanbases of all 32 NFL teams are fantasizing. Trading Dak to the Giants is arguably one if the dumber fantasies out there.

I live in NY. Giants fans hate Jones, but man, if the solution was to trade for Dak, they would not be happy. (Not that it would happen in any case.)

I would rather have Jones with the picks IF JONES TAKES A PAY CUT!!!!

I don’t see the logic of trading one 40 million APY player for a less talented 40 million APY player and only getting a couple picks. Now granted Jones will be 40 million for 2 more years and Dak will jump to 60 million so I get that.

But I definitely would take Jones as a stop gap QB for less money while we see what Trey has or groom another QB. I feel Dak is gone after 24 so I’m hoping we get something for him. I also agree with Fish, either trade/cut him or pay him. This riding the fence crap is bad for the team. JMO

I live in Chicago, well close to Chicago, not actually in the city but the Bears fans love Dak being a Cowboys. They constantly talk about how Dak will never get us a championship and more of Dak means less success for us. There was some talk from the radio about trading Fields for Dak and the fans weren’t having it.

No trade clause plus....

Why would he go to the Giants when he's on the biggest country club with zero accountability with delusional owners. Plus the giants OL is horrendous he would get killed back there

We can debate who would want Dak, is it dumb to move Dak, etc. but I can't disagree with this sentence. The worst thing the Cowboys can do is just let this play out. They should have set a hard deadline to get a deal done with Dak back in March and if that wasn't met a trade should have been explored. Waiting on a deal for Dak only means the price goes up another 10% next year or he walks and the Cowboys get peanuts. The time to do something is now, but I think the ship has already sailed.

We all know the answer to that. Maybe Fish should talk to Dak and tell him it's in his best interest to tell Jerry he's ready to waive that no trade clause. Getting rid of that contract opens up all kinds of possibilities for the Cowboys.

Sure, if the Cowboys don't extend CeeDee, Micah or Dak, they could have $100 million in CAP space in 2025. Then what? The object of the game is not who has the most CAP space, it is who wins football games.

Well, he has beaten the Giants 12 times in a row and has an overall starting record of 12-2-0 against them.

Mike Fisher is exactly that - a fisherman of any kind of story to get clicks. He‘s basically a minor-league Skip Bayless. He might as well be the “National Enquirer” reporter that covers the Cowboys.
