Marist Liufau already being called a potential 'draft-day steal'

We usually get a player that is a steal. And this time it’s at a needed position.

Get your tickets and his jersey quick before they sell out. I put NO stock in all the talk. Wash, rinse, repeat!

Liufau is an intriguing prospect and of all our later round picks, he seems like the most likely to make something of himself. He's athletic, he's not afraid of contact, he can cover. He can get himself out of position because he can spaz out from time to time but with the right coaching/system, he could be become a decent enough LB for us.

The news of the day for the Dallas Cowboys
By David Halprin Jun 3, 2024

Marist Liufau is getting some love as a draft-day steal.
The Dallas Cowboys see another defensive chess piece in third-round linebacker Marist Liufau.

“Number one, he’s brilliant,” defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer told reporters. “He catches on really quick. He wants to be so good and so intense that he’s almost too much at it right now. The other thing is I think he’s a really good pressure player and I think having that with (Micah) Parsons and another pressure player that is a linebacker or he can move somewhere else and Parsons can move somewhere else. I think those pieces add to confusion for the offense, plus he’s a really good rusher. “

Liufau isn’t just a box player, though. He didn’t allow a single touchdown when in coverage over the last two seasons, according to Pro Football Focus.

Glad to see some promise at LB! I hope he proves to be a steal, we need a LB talent like that.

Two years from now it won’t matter where he was selected.

People dislike this pick because he wasn’t a running back and went about a round higher. We did not have a pick in the 4th so we needed to go a bit higher.

He is a smart player and shows upside
A round? Think most draft analysts had it as 2 rounds early … some 3

Hmmmm, let me know when someone outside the Cowboys organization makes this claim, someone reputable.

I'll reserve my enthusiasm for this pick until I see his productivity results during a stretch of games in the regular season.

Im still waiting on Lucy to allow Charlie Brown to kick that football. Aint happened yet. lol

People said that about Clark and others around draft day,

what else do you have to see besides potential just like our wonderful moderator just replied,

I mean how can they make any other assumption some people are going to say he's raw and doesn't have a shot he's going to be in a rotation at first other people might see his athleticism and the way he fits in Mike Zimmer's defense..

the fact that we do need some linebackers especially young ones they're going to say some positive things about them it's a possible steal..

by the way when I see a word like potential that's the precursor for telling you they're not guaranteeing it they're making a assumption do you know what that means it's an opinion based on very little fact put on potential they're not saying it as a definitive thing you all jumped to conclusions because you like to say negative things about Cowboys you don't wanna hear 1 positive thing or anything that might lead to something positive because that's not the new thing to do it's bashed the Cowboys 24/7 so let me remind you the word potential put in there meaning there was no definitive statements being made..

As long as he's good enough to keep Clark off the field then I'm good. Clark was really really really bad last year.
