Well, well, well. What a surprising result from Slovakia. Slovakia 1 Belgium 0 full time. Well done to them. Pretty decent tourny so far. England was playing down to competition again yesterday. Nothing new there sadly. Luckily, we won, but we should have crushed Serbia.

Belgium and Croatia are old and done.

Belgium will probably rebuild faster than Croatia.

France Austria starts in 45 minutes.

I think Belgium has enough talent to rebuild, but I don't think they'll make the next World Cup. As for Croatia, I think they'll be mia for a while after this tourny.

Spain seem likely to win this one. Feel like they fare better versus Euro clubs than they will at the WC. Love this version of their squad TBH. Very 2008 feel.

Belgium has missed the big trophies with their Golden generation. Scares me as an American to be honest as we are clawing to avoid the same fate over the next 4-6 years.

England need a new manager. Not playing Cole Palmer is insane. Put a Non-Englishman in charge of the crew IMO. I'd lean to someone like the genius one. He'd have them hating him but dominating teams and the next manager would know who to play. I might legit hate Southgate and I am American, lol.

France is well France. They can win anything at any time. Likely the most athletic team in Europe. Team I'd least like the US to face in the WC.

Croatia vs Italy soon, about a hour and 15 minutes from now.

If Croatia wins and advances they'll be knocked out next game, so I'm not sure i should even cheer for them today, Italy will probably do better going forward.

Italy has no athleticism. But both are smaller countries that will struggle to win a knockout game IMO.

We will see today if England has figured out how to deploy attackers.
Italy's tourney has come to a painful but necessary end.
Germany finally had a plus game.

Well, another lousy performance. Glad we won, but we're not going much further.
Talent is there but manager is scared of the star players and won't even rest them.
Jude never should have started and Foden is playing his absolute worst of the last couple seasons.
England has enough talent to rest guys in poor form for at least a half.
No reason not to win that 2-1 in regulation if they had played with aggression from the start.
Pickford is not a stud keeper you can try to win 1-0 with IMO.

They have to find a wing who can nail a cross or take someone on.
It can't just be keep shape and track the other teams' wings.

I couldn't agree more. I'd love to have Howe, but he's probably too young for it at the moment. But yeah, if I had my choice, it'd be Howe. Plus, there's nothing saying he can't do multiple stints.

Kante is one of my favorite all-time players to watch. His work rate and desire is just a joy to see on the pitch.

Spain seem to have very good focus so far. Looking forward to their next match. Should be a fun one.

England look horrid. They won't get much further if they continue they way they have been going. Fortunately, they have a manager who is creative and not the least bit conservative.

Unfortunately, I think we are going to get turned into Swiss Cheese by the Swiss.

That kid from Spain Lamine Yamal. If he can keep his body working at a high level for 20 years, he'll end up being the greatest soccer player ever.

He'll probably make over 2 to 3 billion dollars without any merchandise income in those 20 years.

Serious cash will be coming this kid's way.

Don't let any person steal your money!

I'd love for Bournemouth to try to get him. I know he's 16 (he'd be 17 by the time the PL season starts), but my goodness. It'd be a great pick up, and it'd get him into the PL. It'd be a quietly great signing.

Now imagine what some Saudi Arabia club would pay to get him there. If i was him i wouldn't go there yet because they can't improve his game, but just think how much they would pay for him now or later on. He might end up being the wealthiest athlete in the world in less than 10 years from now.

The kid even made the money sign with his hands at the end of the game. He knows!

Cash INC!

I could see that, but, for his development, Bournemouth would be a great way to get his foot in the door of the PL on a team where the expectations would be significantly lower than with, say, Chelsea, out the gate.

Some very astute points there. There is a lot of frustration over here with Southgate. Reminds me when Sven was the manager and others after him when the star players had to play even out of position.

Hopefully Shaw will start against Netherlands and bring some balance to the team. Palmer should be first name on team sheet. Give him half a chance and Kane will score, but as a target man he doesn't bring others into the game unless he drops deep. Should be on bench in my opinion.
