8 QBs Now Make At Least $50 Million. Lets Look At Their Playoff Records

Why are you mad bro? Are you Tad?

Here's the deal. Dak is older than all the guys getting new contracts. Dak got his in 2020 and it is comparable with inflation to some of the 1st extension contracts QB's are getting now. The problem with Dak is he's had almost a decade of chances. The Cowboys have been totally fair in giving him his "shot". Problem is, the dude freezes when the lights come on. He pee's down his leg. No matter how much you refuse to admit it, the statistics are there, the evidence is overwhelming.

Get over it.
Why is he still here? For a 3rd round comp draft choice in 3026 the Cowboys are going to delay developing an alternative to Dak as their quarterback? Who’s decision is this?

Burrow (55).........lost a SB
Lawrence (55)........has 1 career playoff win, if you can even call it that (threw 4 picks in that win)
Love (55)................has 1 career playoff win, you guessed it, the curb stomping of Dallas.
Tua (53)..................has 0 career playoff wins
Goff (53)..............lost a SB
Herbert (52)............has 0 career playoff wins
Lamer (52).............has reached Conference Finals and lost
Hurts (51).............lost a SB
Out of that list IMO the only ones who deserve to be paid over 50 is Burrow, Lamar and Hurts. And I’m a little iffy on Lamar.

Right now the QB salaries are out of control and ruining the league IMO. If a player who has started games in the NFL is a FA the minimum salary for a QB that has started a game looks to be 35-40 a season.

I liked the trade with SF for Lance but I wish he had another year on his contract. Let’s pretend Dak leaves and Trey stays. Trey has started games in the league. What’s he going to ask for? 35 million?!? He might get it. Or what if Dak leaves and we sign Fields. Well he started a whole season for the Bears. What’s that going to cost? 40 APY. My thoughts of Lance staying in Dallas for cheap has gone out the window. I say draft someone if Dak leaves.

I guess what my point is I don’t feel a QB that is an average starter should be paid elite money. I view elite money as 50+ or a better metric is being paid more than Mahomes. Lawrence, Love, Tua, Goff and Herbert are above average, or just plan average, franchise QBs. IMO it’s crazy and unbalanced they get paid that much.

So, there are currently 8 QBs who make at least $50 million a year.............lets take a look at what these 8 guys have done in the playoffs.

Burrow (55).........lost a SB
Lawrence (55)........has 1 career playoff win, if you can even call it that (threw 4 picks in that win)
Love (55)................has 1 career playoff win, you guessed it, the curb stomping of Dallas.
Tua (53)..................has 0 career playoff wins
Goff (53)..............lost a SB
Herbert (52)............has 0 career playoff wins
Lamer (52).............has reached Conference Finals and lost
Hurts (51).............lost a SB

1. Out of these 8 guys, only three have ever made it to a SB and they all lost (Burrow, Goff, Hurts).
2. One guy has made it to the Conference Title Game and he lost (Lamar Jackson)
3. Two guys have exactly 1 career playoff victory in Love and Lawrence, but Lawrence needs an * because he threw 4 picks in that "playoff win".
4. The other two guys have put up goose eggs in the playoffs, Tua and Herbert. of

I think this thread clearly demonstrates that playoff success is not a requirement to be among the highest paid QBs in the league.
4 of these had to win 3-4 playoff games to get to the championship playoff / SB and 4 others have been in the league 4 years or less while Dak has been in the league for 10 years, so I'm not sure what you are getting at. Also as another poster stated in the following thread, Dak has had absolutely loaded teams. He really doesn't have an excuse for his record and to ask for that kind of contract.

Post of the day right here. These contracts are ridiculous.

I'm still shocked other players haven't spoken up. Paying a QB 1/5th of the salary cap costs a lot of players a lot of money.

You asking me? Why? No rookie has won a SB. About 35% have been won by #1 draft picks though. What is your point? Are you worried if Dallas had a rookie, there would be no chance at a SB? Well...right now with all the evidence given there is no chance for one with a 9+ season player. So who cares really?
Your example above stating Dak's best chance when he was a rookie.

Here are the requirements to be one of the highest paid QBs in the league.

1. You have to be on a rookie contract.
2. The team that drafted you wants to keep you longer.

That's it. As long as the team that drafted you thinks you're good enough to keep, you get paid north of 50M now.

Burrow has 4 seasons under his belt and is 5 and 2 in the playoffs and has made it to a SB, all while having to deal with the best player in football in Mahomes. Respectfully, for a Cowboys fan to call this a "lack of playoff success" is like a hobo criticizing a house because it only has 3 bathrooms.

What the hell does any of that have to do with this thread..................this is looking at the playoff records of the 8 highest paid QBs currently in the NFL.

If you are trying to make this somehow about Dak, move on, this aint a Dak thread..........nowhere was Dak even mentioned in this thread so move on bro if that is what you want to discuss.
it has everything to do with the thread. Your top post is clearly a "pay and support Dak our continued leader" post and he is countering your argument by adding facts that are very relevant yet not in your chart

Yeah, it's crazy, it is almost like team success isn't really factored into individual talent and skill and pay related to that talent and skill.

And ZERO OL, defensive support, horrible OC in Lombardi.
Minor details..
Dak Haters are calling Kellen Moore a bad OC... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao2: :lmao2:  :lmao: :hammer: :lmao:  :lmao: :lmao2: :lmao2:  :lmao: :lmao2:

Dak Haters are Phonies and weird...now Kellen Sucks!!

By the logic of some on this board, these teams are eliminated from SB contention because their QB makes too much money, and they don't have money to build around them.

Am I right?

How strong was their surrounding cast?
How many playoff wins do they have?
Herbert has had absolutely horrible surrounding casts but clearly if he had better talent, the skills are there, so pay is based on skills more than records.
Statement of this entire thread.

Now do the ones that are in their 9th season and beyond.

Plus, it's not about playoff record. It's how did they play in the playoffs. Dak is horrid in the postseason against legit teams.

He had Moore for one season with ,ZERO OL AND ZERO RECEIVERS. Did you even watch a LAC game?

All that is excuses because many around here stated that "good quarterbacks are supposed to ELEVATE the talent around them". Herbert was selected in the 1st round for a reason.

So it's time for Herbert to elevate the talent around him, leave the excuses at home.

Until last season, Dak hasn't had his starting offensive line playing together for 3 straight seasons. Last year, the Cowboys running game was the weakest it's been in Dak's career, but he still managed to have an All-Pro season and became an MVP candidate. Dak isn't elite and somehow managed to play well enough to have atleast accomplished that.

Now Dak and many others played like trash in the playoffs vs GB, but no excuses.

There's no excuses for Dak and that goes for all the other NFL quarterbacks.

ELEVATE the talent around you. These are professional football players. Stop with the excuses.
