If we don't do any trades, this team should make some changes to players who start. You have a weakness in many areas but there are some things that can be done. I think donovan wilson is good against the run but as the ball hawk or defender he cannot cover. Hooker is not fast and out of position to make plays. Steele is just bad, move Guyton over there and slide Smith back to left and put Bass at left guard. Try Flournoy over Brooks, guy is forever falling down.

The ONLY trades regarding the Cowboys will be trades of their own players to other teams for draft picks....
Jerry's mind set will be we don't need any trades. Players coming back from injury will be like us making a trades.

Honestly I wouldnt get my hopes up for any sort of moves...If they can pull out a win against Atlanta maybe youll see a low cost Hankins style trade, but thats about it.

As far as the suggested internal moves I cant see it happening. Guyton had probably his best game as a rookie against SF, I wouldn't go messing with it now. If you want to move him back to RT in the offseason where he will have months to adjust back to the position I have no issues with it. Doing it mid season and basically reshuffling your entire OL may do more harm than good. This is part of the issue with having a coaching staff fighting for their lives too. These guys could care less about player development at this point, they just want to squeeze out a few wins in order to keep their jobs or get an interview somewhere else.

I think you leave Guyton and Smith right where they are and see if Guyton develops for this year. It's a lost cause either way so give him all the reps and take what comes. He will either show he can be the LT of the future or he will show you otherwise.

Cowboys should be sellers.
I blame Zimmer for putting Dono in position to fail after knowing it wasn't gonna work in the 1st half...no adjustments.

Agreed. We need to be trading players, not acquiring players. The 2024 team is going nowhere. The 2024 season was a failure the moment Jerry said McCarthy was returning.

Jerry is an old, stubborn billionaire. He will die on the hill of trying to be right, rather than admit the team he and the kid built is flawed.

Fear not though, after a poor season, we will hear how great the team is, everyone will buy in again, and the mediocrity will continue. I expect more bargain basement FA next season too.

the problem is we have no window, that sailed after dak's rookie contract.

The Joneses know this is a lost season. They probably knew it prior to the season. They had no intention of spending money during the offseason and 2024 was all about going with young players. We’re going to take our lumps this season so might as well get used to it. Next season could be even worse unless we trade Parsons to acquire some extra picks and have some money to spend in free agency.

Maybe "all in" meant all in on the tank! Top 5 pick here we come.
If that were the case then you don't sign Dak to that stupid contract. Jerry has no idea what he's doing beyond being contrarian to any good suggestions.

Jerry has already said he wasn't going to make any moves before the deadline. This is your team for the season....
