Why is any of this a surprise?

When no one was held accountable for the playoff pouncing, nothing was done in the off-season and no running back drafted I told everyone around me they would implode. This team will not be relevant again in the foreseeable future, there are just too many holes and you have too much money tied into Dak and CD. Another offseason will come with minimal activity and they will try and improve via the draft.

They need to begin trading their most valuable assets for draft pick. I would trade any player on the roster for the highest value.

It is not a surprise to me. The off-season kind of told us what 2024 would look like. We got trounced by the Packers and Jerry spent the offseason doing nothing, not even signing, or trading, his own players. Based on the personnel losses, the Cowboys had to be a worse team than 2023. I don't think anyone suspected they would be this bad, but losses to injuries, and Dak's regression, have made them a pretty bad team right now.

With Dak injured they have an opportunity to scout the talent they have and begin preparing for the next three years when they will have to rebuild the roster. But instead, the will force their game plans to the guys they liked going into the season and they will enter the 2025 season not knowing if any of the scrubs they have are worthy.

These team needed to be torn down and dismantled right after last years playoff loss.

When Jerry extended Dak, I said to myself, so much for the rebuild.

Jerry is all in on putting a crappy product out on the field!

Who is surprised, besides Jerry and Son? Certainly, not me. McCarthy doesn't look surprised. He looks resigned, but not surprised.
Exactly right. His recent comments of how "rosters are built going into April" and "its great having an idea what your roster could look like if you had to start a game then" was pretty telling. That to me, was saying he knew the offseason was completely setup for failure. Going into TC with Mazi and Carl Davis is really all you need to know.

only the hard core Dakvidians and eternal homers are surprised. everyone else was fully aware.
Keep throwing darts at dakvidians for being positive and knowing it was out of everyone's hands, at least they aren't happy that we are losing and think we can fix things by beating a dead horse like the AntiDaksters. I don't care much either way, all I know is that it is what it is, I don't have any answers, just useless assumptions and ideas like everyone else around here.

You have to be impressed with just how spectacular the collapse has been. Ever since they took the field against GB. The performance of the players and the coaching that day, reached new depths. Then the management took over in the off season. Losing Quinn and replacing him with Zimmer. The ridiculous free agency strategy. Losing all our depth on the D-Line. The drawn out contract negotiations. Even how the schedule came together went against us. Then all the late off season moves to fill holes in the roster failed. Digg's struggle to return to form. Steele unable to get back to pre-injury form. Then all the injuries. Martin's fall off the cliff. Every word out of everyone's mouth. Every decision and non-decision the management and coaches have made have been wrong.

One total and complete cluster for the year 2024. It's hard to imagine what could possibly go wrong next. But I'm sure it's coming.

I will keep calling them out. The were not being positive, far from it. They were antagonistic toward anyone who suggested reasons why he might not be the lead horse we needed to tie our future to. They were very gleeful in him being the QB "for years to come" so I want them to reap the rewards of that fateful decision.

As one of their champions liked to say, DURR!! :lmao::laugh::muttley::oldcouple::welcome:

Things like "find another team" and "you have a miserable life". These people deserve a Thor hammer beating.

its not a surprise. quite a few folks on this board been saying, that the off season was bad and that we are not going to be a good team.
I for one, was not surprised, when we replaced two OL with rookies, signed Zeke and made Tolbert the #2 WR, didn't sign a DT, and knew our safties were bad.
I fully expected us to take a step back. but to be this horrible specially on defense, that was a bit of surprise.

I would trade Parsons in a heart beat. he is a leader in a team that needs a leader, but he is not one. he needs to go to an organization with strong head coach and true leaders and for him to fall in place.
here, he reports to Jerry jones, is not fully focused on football and is only relying on his physical abilities to succeed. he is just not a student of the game. couple of years from now, when he slows down a bit, if he hasn't honed his skills, he will be an average player. so trade him now. get the maximum for him and lets go find players who are fully committed to football

I can that you’re slowly coming around. I’ve reserved one seat on the bus for you. Just let me know when you’re ready to jump on.

100 pct agree^^^

For 30 years the paternity dodging drunk and his minions have had zero accountability. We all are to blame a bit for that.

When young up and coming NFL executives of the future will study how NOT to do an off-season, this Cowboys off-season will be the cautionary tale.

This throw-away season is a perfect example that it is possible to lose a season based on what you don’t do in the off-season. This was a kamikaze mission since last spring.

^this

90% of us knew this day was coming unless Jerry made real change in this roster through Free Agency.

The 44-19 massacre at the hands of the Saints confirmed our fears , and 2 of the 3 wins were against since removed qbs and the other win is against the 2-8 Giants .

Surprise, Surprise , Surprise
