Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys 'didn't anticipate' 3-7 record

ARLINGTON, Texas -- As much as his time as owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys has been about winning three Super Bowls in the 1990s, Jerry Jones has had down times, too.

"We won one game my first year," Jones said after the Cowboys' 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday night that dropped Dallas to 3-7 on the season. "One. And so have we had rough seasons? Yes. Yeah, I've been around. Certainly we have. And we've had other tough years. And this one, we didn't anticipate the record. And the way we're playing right now, we wouldn't have anticipated that. But, not, this isn't -- y'all have heard me tell these old stories until you're sick -- but not, you stay in this league long enough, you'll have times like this."

I mean Insidnt expect 3-7 either but your belief Jerry this was a really good team was idiotic. It wasn’t as talented as the 2023 team.

You are either stupid or just was gaslighting Cowboys fans when you argued otherwise.

The Doctor will see you now Jerry.

I did.

That’s why I chose 8 wins or less in the poll before the season.

This was a bad roster.
Anyone who thought this team was going to be competitive after losing 8 starting players and replacing them with rookies and the dregs of FA was lying to themselves.

This was the PERFECT season to start a rebuild and bring in a new HC in 2025 and let him pick his QB with a high draft pick.

But. Here we are.

Didn’t anticipate it? Well, the majority of the fanbase sure did.

We all were concerned about the running back situation— you brought back Zeke. And we all knew it would play out just like it has.

We told you to fire MM and don’t make him a lame duck HC or this would happen.

We told you not to extend Dak. That he isn’t worth that contract.

We told you to extend Lamb earlier so he can come to camp and in general to lock up your best guys sooner rather than dragging your feet and getting taken to the cleaners anyway.

But Jerry always knows best lol… And now acts surprised by the suckitude and gets to wax folksie “wisdom” about how there are seasons like this for everyone if you play this game long enough.

What an absolute crock of crap. We are in this mess for one reason: Jerral Wayne Jones.

This is pretty much me now whenever that turd-muffin opens his mouth:

I am waiting for all those bozos that said this roster was as good as last year and maybe better to finally admit they were wrong

Apparently the package which is the Dallas Cowboys looked all pretty tied up with ribbons and bows before the season started. Until it was unwrapped and was discovered to just be an old chunk of coal. They had no clue the lot of them that they were gonna be this bad. Don't believe it for a minute.

This roster is bad. It was the perfect season to start a rebuild, but it makes no sense to sign Dak to the highest contract in the NFL on a rebuild. That contract was a colossal waist.
