Here was Chris Jones biggest concerns in his original scouting report:

• Terribly inconsistent. Lowest grade of the season came against Northwestern State
• Effort is a concern. Looked to give up on some plays even though he wasn’t playing a high volume of snaps and had more negative grades than you’d like from a top pick.
• Burst off the line is lacking. Has a tendency to get high off the snap and play patty cake
• Didn’t show the change of direction to translate pressures into sacks and bring down quarterbacks

That sure sounds like Walker in a nutshell. Just like Chris Jones he is a raw prospect, but has elite physical traits that are rare. It will be up to Walker if he has the so called "want to" be great as he very well can turn into the next Chris Jones, if he doesn't we are looking at another David Irving, wasted talent.

Chris Jones had top ten talent, but was drafted in rd 2, I see the same with Walker. Will the Cowboys take such a polarizing player if even available on day 2?

For a team that refuses to use FA to fill holes we probably need to be smarter.

Walker has some impressive pash rush tape but the run D for such a large player is underwhelming. Might be an effort issue…Dane says he plays a ton of snaps so who knows.

Team better do a ton of due diligence if they’re interested but there are a handful of DTs I’d take over him.

Too many snaps and way too heavy. Also, lack of talent around him. I have him behind the 1st round DT prospects, but would jump at the chance in rd 2 as I feel he has 1st rd traits.

I know history isn't a guarantee, but Dallas hasn't been lucky in recent times with "talented" but effort issue DT's.

Hill had the athletics, but red flags in college for effort.
Mazi is still to be determined. Athletic/strong, effort-could be better. That rookie quote doesn't bode well either

That being said, just got to have proper player meeting. Can't get positional locked if there's a run and he's the only one left, but there's flags galore.

It would highly depend on who’s available but I’d consider him in the 2nd.
He somewhat comparable to Sweat but he’s a better pass rusher and Sweat was a better run defender.

He has zero plan right now and needs to learn proper technique/footwork. Also, as I said, cannot play at 345 lbs, must get into better shape. Whomever draft him needs good coaching to get that talent out of him.

is david irving the biggest "what if" for the cowboys outside of Randy Moss? Jesus his talent was salivating and a crucial need. shame. him and rolondo mcclain had the biggest impacts I've seen on one of our defenses other than micah the past 15 years :(

are you talking in general, or in rd 1?

he's a better pass rusher than sweat? dang.

He definitely needs to slim down and get in better shape. His play style is 3 tech, but body type is 3-4 nose tackle. He definitely has the ability to overwhelm Olineman and looks impressive at times, but it’s been way too infrequent this year.

If effort is in question I wouldn’t consider him until the 3rd round. And my guess is if he doesn’t have some very good interviews and workouts he may be available there.

Give me a guy who has a big time motor versus a guy with more talent who takes routinely takes plays off. TJ Watts type motor is what we need.

ITs not an absolute that he cannot play at that weight; Sweat has shown it can be done.
Conditioning is the key.

the one ABSOLUTE you must have with ANY lineman is a motor that never quits; never draft one that has questions about that

Just watched him vs UGA and not impressive…didn’t look like a top of the 2nd round player.

David Irving was one of the most gifted DTs to play here. Too bad he wasted it. Remember that game vs GB?

It will be interesting to see what he does at the combine. I could see him going higher than expected with a good combine

He is the enigma of this whole class to me

Sweat is almost at 70% of snaps, which is about the max for even top DT's

I’m not a believer in Walker and I think his perceived stock will drop as the draft gets closer.

He doesn’t play with any perceptible technique and the way Kentucky uses him doesn’t help. He doesn’t have a motor (which I hate); I don’t expect linemen to hoof it on every play but there are some he just takes off.

I think he’s a developmental prospect at best and I would put him in the 3rd round.

Walter Nolen plays on an attacking effective D . Would not be upset if Dallas started the 25 draft in that direction .

With Walker when the words “ motor & weight “ are thrown around it’s a red flag .

In general there are a lot of DTs I’d take over him. I’d consider him in round 2 but he’d have to be clear cut BPA.
cool cool. seems like in rd 2 it would be hard to pass. it's so funny how much my opinion sways in draft season lol. this time two months ago he seemed like THE guy
