2025 Recruit Football Team Rankings

Funny thing is that this matters less. The game is now portal recruitment. If you are a big boy team, you go sign veterans who can help today. Schools are going to care less and less about freshman.

No, the top talent will still come from recruiting. Portals will be used to fill holes and upgrade positions.

I hope so. The system is still evolving. Programs are hiring GMs now to manage all the recruiting and player contracts. We just saw Colorado turn over 80% of their team in one off season which was excessive but proves that you don't have to rely on freshman recruiting anymore.

It all equals parity.
Teams aren't keeping high quality depth that can start elsewhere anymore.
The SEC is losing depth like crazy to the portal and as a result their teams aren't as good.

Good HS recruiting will land you more chances to hit on guys but with a 105 roster limit less freshmen are factoring in.
I was shocked that some helmet schools took 30 HS freshmen this year. Basically 1/3 of your roster being year 1 guys is not a recipe for success.

I'd MUCH rather be local kid Ashton Jeanty starring at Boise St than being a 3rd string RB for Clemson or Bama.

Texas A&M is a joke.

For pretty much my entire life, they are always hyped but NEVER deliver. They haven’t won a title since Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1939.

They Recruit like Tarzan, but Play like Jane.

How is Oklahoma not on that list? I thought that I read that they got the number one quarterback in the transfer portal.
OU has lost 21 players(many by design) to the portal and only signed 3 thus far.
Ranked 66 currently.
They'll rise as they sign kids but it doesn't look like they'll finish very high.

Arbuckle (new OC) and Mateer (a local kid from Cole Beasley's HS Little Elm) will cook next year.

UT and TAMU are both recruiting more nationally but especially SouthEast.
Texas kids are still going to go all over but a lot more of the good kids are going to filter down to TCU/Baylor/Tech.
Texas has ALWAYS been able to get the talent; being in the SEC will not change that. Its always been coaching that held them back.

Being in the SEC has already changed that. Texas is a very desirable school to the top national talent. There was a time Oklahoma would out recruit the Longhorns for the top Texas recruits.

Jeanty could easily be a starter on Clemson and Bama.

AND the top coaches at Texas got talent elsewhere. The SEC has changed nothing about the talent level of Texas

It changed drastically . Texas would literally get out recruited by Alabama, Georgia and Oklahoma on a consistant basis.
