I think this is the year Cooper Rush will cash in and get a fat contract during the offseason. He’s done enough and there will be a team who will offer him 15-20 million a year to see if he can put them over the hump. He’s beyond earned it and I think congratulations are in order.

So, which team signs him ladies and gents?

I'll go with Detroit. They just signed Bridgewater which makes me think they don't love what Hendon Hooker has shown them so far. Rush is a Michigan guy so he might be open to finishing his career for his hometown team. Maybe a 2yr/$12M type of deal?

Literally no one is paying him that. He might have earned himself a 4-5m backup job somewhere, but that is about it. No team is going to want him as a franchise QB.

the NFL has to turn to depth.

to many injuries, if i was a coach or Gm, im thinking, how can i get depth to keep things going.

CR is great for that.

Dear Football Gods, hes no starter

Over the hump for what?

Lol. Rush isn’t signing anywhere for $20MM. He’ll be a Cowboy next year.

If he’s not re-signed by the Cowboys he’s probably no longer in the league next season.

It's a possibility that someone will throw more than the $3 million a year at him that the Joneses are liable to be offering, but no one is going to view Rush as a QB who "can put them over the hump." I mean, the team went 4-1 with him in 2022 and all he got was a two-year, $6 million deal to remain the backup in Dallas.

He may end up back in Dallas on a cheap deal. Nobody seemed to value him last go around when he went 4-1….i don’t know what’s changed now…

He just doesn’t have the physical tools for anyone to value his game.

Dude's making $2 million.
He might get double that somewhere to backup.
I would guess Jerry would offer that after watching The Trey Lance Project walk away. (He made $5M to sit for all but a couple plays this year.)

I think other teams might be looking at some back up qbs.

They will become a good commodity

Cooper Rush, like Dak Prescott, is solid against no pressure defenses.
His best bet is to wait till a team loses their starter next summer/fall and then cash in. He might get 10 mil.
