I think this is the year Cooper Rush will cash in and get a fat contract during the offseason. He’s done enough and there will be a team who will offer him 15-20 million a year to see if he can put them over the hump. He’s beyond earned it and I think congratulations are in order.

So, which team signs him ladies and gents?
Lol, you are really funny.

He'll probably be in a range half that. Gardner Minshew was technically signed as the highest paid backup this offseason at 12.5 million and ended up starting, but hasn't performed well.

You really see Rush resetting the backup QB market? He may price himself out of Dallas, but can't see a team handing him 20 million to be their backup QB or stop gap starter.

With all that said, the Giants or Raiders seem like possible landing spots.

He'll end his playing career in Dallas and then become Jerry's next ex backup QB genius OC/HC in training.
I think he could play for several more seasons, even though he will be 32.

But he will be moving on soon. And thats a good thing for him and the team.

Lance is clearly more athletic/stronger arm/younger.

Rush won’t get any interest as a starter. He may get a couple teams offering a backup deal. But I honestly doubt it. He’s definitely earned another year or two in Dallas tho.

He has a winning record as a back up, hes not a starter, he isnt above Dak on the roster.

Understand a roster. its not hard.
First time we’ve missed the playoff since 2020. It’s Cooper Rush is so good. We should’ve made it. He’s not. Just wait till Sunday he’ll be back to his getting destroyed ways.

He will sign as a backup, most likely in Dallas. Probably gets around $3 - $5 million a year. After his playing days are over he could be a potential coach. Rush has the leadership and mental makeup to be a starter in the NFL. He just lacks the arm strength and mobility for that role.

Yeah man, nobody is coming after Rush. He should retire a Cowboy as one of the all time great Cowboys backup QBs.

I'll go with Detroit. They just signed Bridgewater which makes me think they don't love what Hendon Hooker has shown them so far. Rush is a Michigan guy so he might be open to finishing his career for his hometown team. Maybe a 2yr/$12M type of deal?
I loved HH coming out of college. I HOPE that Dallas brings him in if what you say is the case.

Cooper Rush is not a starter in the NFL. He is a good backup.

I think he will stay with us. I dont think he is a guy who wants to squeeze out the last penny of a contract.
He has a good place here in Dallas. He is liked and successful.

....if they keep Lance, Coop is gone. Otherwise, other way around.

I think Trey Lance bolts in FA, just simply wanting to get away from the Cowboys. In turn, Jerry adds a lil bump in pay to Cooper Rush for saving his tail on the lazy job the Joneses did in the '24 offseason.
Cooper Rush re-signed w/ Cowboys (2yr,$8M, 6M guaranteed)

Carson Wentz has the most extensive resume of any back up QB in the league. 100 starts, a winning record as a starter, he’s proven he can adapt to new systems, has won starts for four different teams. He does not have a “noodle arm”. Of course, he’s the QB2 in Kansas City. He is not paid as much as your suggesting Rush will sign for. He’s less than a year older than Rush and he’s a free agent come March 2025, too. Rush will be paid the minimum allowed under the terms of the CBA with the Cowboys or be out of the league. Wentz will sign for the minimum, too, likely with the Chiefs. Teams are not going to pay big for a back up quarterback they know will never develop into a starter.

He is starting games. Not coming in off the bench. Once the 1 goes down the 2 assumes position 1 until otherwise removed.

He starts the game. And also plays the whole game unsubbed. That is the defintion of starter. Not too hard dude. Dont let your coop hate get in the way of logic or reason, if you dare.
