Werder - High probability, Depending on the next HC, Jason Witten will be included in the staff

You have to be a sucker and completely desperate to take the Cowboys HC job
I don't see Prime going for this. Saleh probably has options so I doubt he goes along with it either.

Kellen is a pushover and will bend over for Jerry. Mission accomplished.

Beginning to feel like we have two very distinct options:

Option a: Deion and potential cultural shift (Jerry takes a backseat to a stronger personality and does what he wants, because Deion won't have it any other way).

Option b: Kellen and the yes-men (where Jerry and Stephen handpick the coaches for Kellen and double down on the status quo).

If I had to guess, Jerry would love Option a but Stephen will convince him in Option b.

As a TE coach I have no problem with Witten...anything more than that is absurd
The problem with an ex-former Cowboy FORCED on the staff is the perception will be that he is Jerry's eyes and ears in the lockeroom. If Jerry wants to his eyes and ears in the lockeroom...then he should just hire himself as the head coach.

the Jones family can't get out of their own way. And no, I am not rooting for a different team. (thats a big go-to line for homers) But if we end up with a first time head coach AND with witten anything more than TE coach, my interest will drop. Enough is enough with jerry and his puppet show.

Later on in Landry's tenure, 1986 to be exact, he was forced to hire Paul Hackett as his offensive coordinator and then in 1987, Jim Erkenbeck as his offensive line coach. This was forced on him by Tex Schramm.
The beginning of the end.

lol, what does that even mean? Just speculating based on a conditional prerequisite?

What if Jason is the hire?

“I believe if Jason is hired there’s a strong probability that Witten will be a part of the staff”

I can’t stand Jerry but nobody can say he didn’t work to purchase the team and therefore have an opinion on it. Stephen literally hasn’t earned anything in his entire life. Screw him

Witten will eventually be the Cowboys HC. Just add him to the staff so Jerry can groom him.

This is just another reason why I like the Deion idea. You can add Witten to the staff and not have the expectations that Jerry will push the HC out the door to move him up the ladder.

I sure wish I could get a top job like this with just High School experience.

I like a Witten, and he may be a great coach one day, but perhaps we should hire coaches who have actual major college and/or NFL coaching experience first.

It helps that he played in the NFL and had a stellar career so it's not really a stretch that he might be a pretty good TE coach. Anything beyond that though, definitely is a stretch.
