Honestly, I stopped watching. Also first year in many I didn't travel to see them play. Will travel next year to Vegas though because they only play there once every 8 years and don't wanna wait till old man is dead.

You are right about Dak's postseason but at least it's his floor. In other words, as you just admitted, he can consistently get you to the postseason and that more than be said about the majority of starting QBs but then he needs a lot of help. And no, he isn't worth $60M .......he never was but since Jerry was stupid enough to pay it, no one would have turned it down.

I know I’m just stating that coach was also good enough to get to post season consistently. And just getting to playoffs is not his floor it’s his ceiling until proven otherwise.

What exactly is it about head coaching that requires 5-7 years of apprentice learning? Coaching isn't rocket science. Coaching is motivating and strategizing.

Witten can throw a challenge flag when the people upstairs tell him to.
Witten can give a press conference saying absolute nothing like they all do.
Witten can most likely manage time in games better than McCarthy. Basically who can't?

How many practices has Witten seen firsthand? How many meetings did Witten attend? How many coaches has Witten learned from firsthand as a player?

Mike Singletary is a Hall of Famer and had 6 years experience as an NFL LB coach and he sucked as an NFL HC.

Witten has coached high school for 2 years. Just because someone played in the NFL doesnt mean they will be a good HC.

Jerry sees Dan Campbell 2.0. He also knows he can totally control him and knows a certain portion of the fanbase would be all giddy about a former star Cowboys player being HC.

Jerry is still a buffoon.

Obsessed with a guy who had OBVIOUS trouble speaking in front of a camera....and believes that you can pull a rabbit out of your head. The problem is that he wants SO BAD for success to come from one of "his guys" that he is blind to it....sorry, but Witten would be one GIANT boat anchor to this organization as HC.

Jerry thought he was backing Mike into a corner so he could swindle him again. Jerry thought Mike would be afraid to test the market and assumed with his holier than though attitude that Mike would sign here at any cost. Jerry still thinks his organization is the cream of the crop which is funny because Jerry typically doesn't even interview the consensus top candidates. The exception was Parcels and only because he needed the fan base to support ripping homes away from arlington residents to build a stadium.

It's not only Jerry, it's his stupid kids who likely want Jason Witten as head coach for the near future as well. His kids think just as stupid as Jerry. Pretty sure this is what is keeping Deion (who is way more qualified and has the best coaching traits to reshape this team and players into a playoff successful team) from accepting Jerry's offer. Deion sees the writing on the wall and will not accept being hired as a temporarily coach forced to accept Jason Witten and groom Witten to replace you in 2-3 years. Nope. Deion will never accept that, nor should he. Jerry and his kids are idiots.

As good as a coach as I think Deion would be in the NFL, I think he believes (rightfully so) that even he couldn't overcome the hampering and tampering of the GM/Owner. It's an albatross around the neck of any HC coming here. NONE have been able to overcome Jerry since Jimmy left. So why would Deion think otherwise? He'd be smart to accept an offer somewhere else. Him coming here would only signal that it's only about the money, sadly. He apparently also likes Colorado. But yeah, I get your point. Why would any coach come in knowing they're a placeholder?

It's time to move on to the next coach, McCarthy was always meant to be a stopgap...and he never made a playoff run, so he had to go (and hec, this team was embarrassed in the playoffs, almost looking unprepared).

Our defense was humiliated by Green Bay; complete no-show. And our DC was immediately rewarded with a HC job.

Dak's utter & obvious psychological inability to compete in a playoff contest was subsequently rewarded by him being made the highest-paid player in the NFL.

But it's all McCarthy's fault.
