Cowboys forced McCarthy out with absurd succession plan

Landry Hat gets very little correct; but this sounds so insanely like Jerry and only Jerry that it is probably true.

McCarthy may have been offended. But he also wasn't achieving what he was hired for either. He had already failed. His playoff record in Dallas was putrid. That being said, I'm sure McCarthy does have some pride and it is understandable that he walked.
But don't you agree like Bill par ells told us, "if you want someone to cook the meal, you need to let them buy the groceries?"

Big Mac was handicapped taking players Booger bought to make the team. And he did as much as he could with what they gave him. He has faults, but player personnel, takeaways and injuries are beyond his control.

I, for one, am glad he left. If anything he needs better organizational support than he got here.

What HC had success under JJ current ownership model?

No one can achieve what they are hired to do in Dallas.

Mike Singletary is a Hall of Famer and had 6 years experience as an NFL LB coach and he sucked as an NFL HC.

Witten has coached high school for 2 years. Just because someone played in the NFL doesnt mean they will be a good HC.

Jerry sees Dan Campbell 2.0. He also knows he can totally control him and knows a certain portion of the fanbase would be all giddy about a former star Cowboys player being HC.

Jerry is still a buffoon.
So, is every player who wants to be coach is the next Mike Singletary? Maybe Mike Singletary was just a bad coach and it had nothing to do with experience. Maybe Mike Singletary was a good coach but got saddled with a team lacking talent.

You can have Witten.

Jerry is really going to try the Garrett thing again?

That’s beyond stubborn and into pure stupidity. What’s the benefit? If you want the guy as your HC in four years then let him gain valuable experience elsewhere, not standing on the sidelines in Dallas.

Does this guy have not even the slightest clue that what he wants to do doesn’t work??
Apparently not. He is the quintessential political animal - reward your friends and family with positions they may not deserve.

True. They should have forced him out because he could only beat bad teams and disappeared in the playoffs.

Jerry wants to win his way or not at all.
It's becoming apparent to me that winning is not Jerry's main goal. That drippy scene in Landman featuring Daddy Jerry's fantasy of sharing his job with his family (biological and adopted) seems to be the operable motivator. One big happy family nestled in a huge wad of money, notoriety, and comfort.

Jerry is just a hillbilly’s hillbilly. When he hired JImmy…was that because Jimmy was a great coach…or just because he knew him? Some of you might remember, that when Jimmy was hired, it was not just that he replaced Landry, but he was replaced with a COLLEGE coach…who never coached in the NFL. So it was highly unusual what Jerry did, but hey…he only goes with what he already knows…like most idiots.

So yeah, Jerry will give Witen the job…or let Kellen Moore tryout and then install Witten. And he will sell this as ”I’ve never seen anyone with the aptitude for the game than Kellen…”…

Back-to-back championships at Liberty Christian is a hell of a resume. Jerry better be prepared for a bidding war to get Witten on his staff.

Faber College you said?
This is good old boy wink-wink, nudge-nudge, welcome to our fraternity stuff. Here's your antler helmet. Stephen, show him the secret handshake and shotgun that keg over there.
