News: Fox: DeMarcus Ware says Parsons won't do podcast during season if he joins coaching staff

Well to be fair, he started dating Swift last year and the Game show hosting, podcasting slots etc.. didn't really kick into gear until after last season.

This year was a drop off in stats from the year previous, how much of it was/is distractions and how much injuries, age, scheme, opponents etc.. hard to say.

He didn't win 2 Super Bowls while dating Swift and being this heavy into social media though.
He’s won one Super Bowl while dating Taylor Swift and doing the podcast, and won the Super Bowl the year he started the broadcast.

Focus? He's made ALL PRO his 1st four years in the league.......how much more focus he needs? I doubt 1 hour 1 day a week has that much impact. Now if you tell it's bad form or causing some uneasiness among teammates, then yes he needs to get rid of it. Simply put IMO if teammates and coaches don't have a problem, why should fans?

The stadium walk-throughs are while the players are there trying to work out. That's a completely different thing.
It’s not the same but it’s something the players complain about. If they are complaining why do we just assume it’s not a issue?

Then I assume you don’t post here during the week? It’s a distraction from your job, and if you do post during the week, you are unprofessional. All you can do is focus on your work during the week, otherwise you are unprofessional. That’s your logic.

He does this in his off time. Like another poster said, it’s no more a distraction than if he went to the movies. Or did charity work on that day.
This logic makes zero sense. We aren’t arguing about Micah posting on a forum or on Twitter. If Micah posted on this site that wouldn’t be an issue.

The issue isn’t focus. It’s the subject matter. Doing a podcast isn’t an issue. Most guys do radio shows. Micah has been proven to be a distraction. Ware isn’t saying this for the hell of it he knows what it takes to win a SB.

I don’t even get why this is even being ignored. Tell you what to and tell me what the playoff teams are doing and try to emulate that behavior.

  :hammer: thank you .......this team has way more problems than Parsons podcast.
Seriously, if someone told me that Ferguson was doing 5 podcasts this year and thats why he had a down year, I'll listen, but we're gonna call out the guy who missed time with an injury but still had 12 sacks? Nah.

Other than Malik Hooker, which players are complaining, and why?

Is not so much a distraction as a source of personal embarrassment for them, that their poor play is on display? Calling it a "distraction" might be just an excuse to try to get rid of it.

I don’t agree with you at all. He hasn’t proven anything other than he’s one of our best players and one of the best in the entire league. You are being shown others doing the same and remaining at the top of their game just like Micah.

Well let me ask you this. Are you satisfied with Micah’s play?

It’s not about him. He’s perfectly fine with the distractions. As is Jerry.

So what about Ware? Why is he saying he wouldn’t let him do a podcast?

A podcast is the least of the teams worries.
we keep saying this though. I’m victim of it. Walkthrough's are the least of our problems, curtains are the least of our problems, podcasts, selling glasses, calling themselves the Hot Boyz….distraction after distraction we keep saying this but at some point it has to add up.

I think what Ware is saying and wants to do is just get rid of it all. When we win do whatever. But let’s don’t even create a built in excuse. Sure we have poor play in the trenches, bad playoff play, we can go on and on. But when it’s not football related distractions and issues? It’s a problem.

That's true, but the real uptick in all his personal appearances, podcasts hosting a game show on a streaming platform etc.. came after last years win.

I don't really have an opinion if it's a distraction or not i just think it could be.

Risen is right though, it was a stupid statement by Ware and one that can't be enforced.

My problem with Micah's podcasts are not the cast itself but sometimes the content, he gives a lot of publicity and air time to our opponents and when doing so some of the discussions do enter the realm of running down or criticizing his own team.

What someone does in his personal time is his business
That's true, but when it takes away the focus of your job then hmmmm, and he's been called out by a teammate! There's so many other things he could be doing instead of podcasting, NOT SAYING HE'S wrong i'm just speaking in general, in the end he's going to do what he wants

One teammate, who doesn't exactly tip the scales in our favor when he's on the field.
