Signed by Cowboys Cowboys Hiring Brian Schottenheimer as HC

I just want to see the contract details. It will confirm what we all already know and help us understand why Jerry’s so happy I’m sure. Crazy how JJ can lose millions on players’ contracts but be so excited about minimal savings with minimal ROI for these retread coaches
 

Cowboys confirm laughingstock status with despicable Brian Schottenheimer hire​

They knew they could be players in the 2025 coaching cycle the second they decided last January to bring McCarthy back for the final year of his contract. It is malpractice in every sense of the word that Jones only interviewed Schottenheimer, Moore, Robert Saleh and Leslie Frazier.


By dragging his feet with McCarthy, Jones screwed himself out of interviewing Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, arguably the two hottest names of this coaching pool. Johnson, who was hired by the Bears, and Glenn, who got the Jets job, are both perceived as home-run hires. The Cowboys seemingly did not have a single conversation with either of them. That is the inaction of a laughingstock organization.

That’s the main problem, he will most likely be the OC and call plays……just like the ones this past season. To make this hire palpable, a new, innovative OC needs to come in and take control and let Shott walk around. But, doubt that happens….
 
I’m out. When Jerry or whichever Jones is left sells the team, I’ll be back. But I’m done spending any more time watching this **** show.
 
Dak Prescott shares some blame for the hiring of this garbage. Cant believe Dak wanted this garbage as head coach.
 
This hire was solely for Dak not having to learn a brand new offense. I'd bet money on it.

Fans echoed these sentiments... Sound familiar? Not defending the Jones AT All. But we'll see. I had preferences that were wildly different than Shotty, but I'll see how he does instead of jumping on the hate wagon.

I'm not happy about the choice, but that doesn't mean it won't work out. I'm not expecting much, but that's mainly because of Dallas' ownership. Even if Schottenheimer was a genius, I can't see this front office giving him what he needs to succeed.
 
I’m more pissed off on the interview process than anything else. The whole process was a farce. As far as Schottenheimer goes, truthfully I don’t know whether he’ll be terrible or good- it’s always a crap shoot. Listening to him speak he comes across with more confidence and aura than Kellen imo- how that translates who knows.

I’ll be rooting for him, the way the jones handled this was terrible however
 
If this was a movie....just as they announced him as HC and he signed the contract

This would start playing as part of the soundtrack...
