Tony Pauline stated that the Cowboys are looking for front 7 run defenders, who is the player who can make the biggest impact against the run in this year's class?

-I don't see an elite linebacker this year, Campbell is the closest to that, but still learning the position. Many believe Walker is more of an edge rusher.
-The Michigan DT's are probably the best run defenders, along with Williams from Ohio State at the position. Harmon is probably in the mix as well.
-There are a couple of LE prospects, like Williams from Georgia, but he is more about traits, then production.

As far as first round prospects, the Michigan duo are probably 1-2 in terms of run defense. Both Harmon and Nolan are very strong as far as 3 Techs. Harmon gives you some gap versatility

They should seriously consider Nolen but i know that idiot Stephen will re-sign Osa and completely neglect the position.

As far as dt According to pff

grant 86.3 run grade
Graham 92.4
Nolan 91.4

I don't know about Harmons number. Take that info how you'd like

Harmon is more balanced and could play either spot, but the Michigan boys are on another level as run defenders. Ohio State tried to run right at them and couldn't run the football what so ever.

It makes sense that the Cowboys have shown interest in both players.

LBr: Campbell is the best all around LBr…dude is a stud and a top 25ish player in the class. Run D only? Maybe Danny Stutsman or Jay Huggins.

DT: Grant, Ty Williams, Harmon and Nolen

DE: Mykell Williams and Shemar Stewart are the tops but sure you could easily find more run D only Edges later.

With Eberflus background, Campbell could very well to a top target.

Dudes a modern day LBr that can do it all…there are a few others I like for that 3 down role but most are smaller or not as athletic.

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t go bottom of the 1st.

I do like him, but way too rich at 12. He would be a trade down target for me. Many of the media scouts have him in that early 2nd rd range, but I agree probably goes higher.

Grant is ALREADY what they thought Mazi COULD be…and he still has room to grow. Grant plays like he loves football whereas Mazi doesn’t.
Keep in mind rookie DTs usually don’t make a major impact and it’s a position that takes time…I’d love Grant but to expect him to come in and be a stud year 1 isn’t realistic.

Also - j/c how you know Mazi doesn’t love footballl? Quite a statement when he fans have zero insight into something like that.

Fine by me in a trade down.
Say Osa/Mazi are our returning starters, but we have nothing behind them. Best way to complete the unit is adding a veteran who can help right away and using a high pick at the position. Allow the rookie to get his feet wet and eventually become the starter.

Hey I’d be all in to resign Osa, sign another vet AND draft a DT early.

The Eagles have proven a dominant DT room can transform a defense…Every game I watch it seems like Carter a compete game wrecker.

He did say that verbatim.

"I don't even like football, man," Smith said. "I like hitting people."

Was he joking? Is he just dumb?, yes he seems to be a pretty dumb guy. You decide.

Carter is an generation type of player, those who passed him up are losing their jobs. He is their Parsons and allows the rest of the defense to clean up his pressures. Grab one of these high end DT's and their is a chance they can become a star.

you forget he said it; he likes hitting people not playing football. And it shows. Grant looks tons better than Mazi did in college. I know you are hyped about wr or something else but Grant could really cement our Run D which is a lot more important
