PFT: Stephen Jones on Micah Parsons' contract

Here is what we know........no way in hell Parsons will play the 2025 season under the current deal w/o a fight. The sooner Stephen Jones handles this ( only two options ...sign or trade ) the better.

Stephen Jones on Micah Parsons’ contract: Obviously, he is an important part of what we’re about

He is going to wait until the last possible moment. He does for this same reason every single time: it is better for their bottom line to pay later versus sooner.

Wouldn't be surprised if we trade him. Remember what Shotty and Stephen said multiple times? Culture, changing the culture. We have some of the wrong players currently. How do you fix that? Sometimes you have to be sellers, get worse for a short time, in order to get better, thus, change the culture via different players. Micah might be the best way to achieve this. Sell high as they say. If you think about it, it makes sense.
Yep. Yet again the GM gets it wrong, yet again building around an easily identifiable 'Star' than through a sustainable foundation which facilitates a number of 'shows' / formations/schemes.
I like Micah, and his presence alone appears to elevate all around him be it around his: follow me (demeanor), or being double teamed allowing space for others.....HOWEVER.....
Lets be fair, but the Defense will struggle against the run....and we're going to have 4 games vrs Eags(2nd yards)/Comm(3rd) and Dak, as we know struggles when trailing. The whole strategy is misplaced.
Saying all of that, he's not getting traded (Jerry doesnt trade, Jerry definitely doesnt trade drafted stars)....lets just hope Micah's declaration that in exchange for a good/not elite contract he can get guarantee's that the 'saving's will be used to bolster the Defense (or, as seems more feasible, FA spending on Offense, trading back in the draft for IDL help)......(obs a later Rd RB).

Do you hear yourself..........Parsons and other players create the wrong culture, so let's trade them and the problem is solved. What was the problem BEFORE Parsons and others coz by the take, we were racking up NFCCGs and Super Bowls?

It starts at the top.......look no further than the Commanders, or Chiefs or Eagles. It's like cutting off the body of a snake and leaving the head. Stephen Jones needs to look in the mirror.

He is a luxury at this point. The Cowboys are not going any where next 4 years with Dak at QB. Micah is wasted here. Trade him and in 4 years when Dak is gone those draft picks will be maturing and entering their prime

Yeah but we have no control over what happens at the top with the culture. So what can we change? The players. Your right but we will need to get the players off this team that circumvent the HC,staff, to go to Jerry. You think Micah and others care what Shotty will want? Lol... He feels like he's above him. Just go watch 5 minutes of his podcast. Not picking on Micah but it does show you the mentality of the lockerroom.
