You run the ball because you have running lanes. Teams with great offensive lines, you don’t need a great running back although if you had bolt that’s when you’re really excel. But I take an offensive line before running back any day. Totally agree.

Yeah, but the problem w/ that is the average RBs will then fail when you get to the playoffs and those gaping holes are no longer there. That "any RB will do" thought is only for the regular season against weaker D's.

X gadzillions. However, that's what you're left w/ when your GM is a non-football guy. Jerry is a follow-the-ball fan type GM, and it keeps on hurting us badly. There's always a WR/CB/TE/Injured LB that Jerry just has to have.

It happened to the great ones also. The issue is the team doesn’t quit. They keep handing the ball off. Finally that hole opens up.

Pointing out that the great ones get shut down occasionally also is way beyond the point. Top tier RB's are very important to a super bowl contender. No, you cannot just pick one up in the mid rounds and expect him to be just as good.

Yeah, and your opinion it’s beyond the point, but it’s the actual fact of it

and none of us have any idea what a running back is capable of once you pick them up in any round.

And conversely the teams in the SB aren't in the top 6 against the run but they are top 4 in total defense
